Archive - March 2008 March MadnessPosted Mar-29-08 14:10:45 PDT Am I the only man who doesn’t give a flying flip about sports? Probably not but I do know one thing… eBay sales drop when a major sporting event comes along. Maybe I should take the weekend off. I have to remind myself to work less and play more. Speaking of working less have a look at my other blog www.worklessplaymore.blogspot.comHave a great weekend! To list or not to list...Posted Mar-28-08 12:23:58 PDT I cut my first lawn today. This ushers in the slow summer season as an eBay artist. I would love to hang up my mower blades and continue just creating my art but it seems that eBay is a hot and cold market. Here is another question for ya. I make so little during the summer months. Is it that important to maintain a year around presence on eBay or should I just close up shop for a few months? Uggh. I have a cold.Posted Mar-27-08 12:33:27 PDT I cant believe how sick I am right now. My boss says I can't take time off. He is such a jerk! Sometimes it's tough working for me. I promised to remark on my listing strategies yesterday so here goes: Up till this winter I had been just listing my artwork for sale and watching sales dwindle as the holiday season came to a close. Then as I was reading a book one cold day it dawned on me to diversify. To some this must seem so obvious but I had not made the connection of product vs. exposure. The same person that may enjoy my artwork could be reading the same book I was and not even be aware that my art even existed. By listing more everyday items of some relevance I have been able to reach more customers and my art sales have increased as a result. Don’t get me wrong, I know this is not a new concept but it was new to me. So if your selling grass seed why not sell a few related books on the subject as well. I’m going for a much needed nap while my boss is out to lunch so to speak. See you tomorrow. Wow What an amazing welcome!Posted Mar-26-08 06:50:17 PDT Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome to eBay blogs! Today I awakened to the thought of how much I wanted to create more art to sell on Ebay. I have, in the past, found it very hard to be creative when the green numbers aren't coming up. With March Madness, Taxes, and rising fuel prices, this month has been a challenge. I have turned up the heat despite these elements and people are noticing my work more. Someone told me last year as I was trying to refine my Ebay business that the key to success was listing lots of stuff. I am always a little leary of the phrase "key to success", it should be keys to success. Anyway, its true in part that if you don’t list anything you won't make any money on Ebay as a matter of fact you will most likely lose money. Seems like a no-brainer huh? I have found that in addition to offering more for sale I am also building more of a presence by having my items visible in greater frequency. Here are some questions for ya. How much is to much? Should a seller list all of his items at once or spread them out? Tomorrow I will share my strategy on listing multiple items. This is my first post!Posted Mar-25-08 14:32:21 PDT Just think how much money I am saving by working at home, selling on Ebay. That is if I could stop buying things on Ebay! I hope to put this blog to good use not only promoting my store and auction sales but also sharing some of my expeirences with my readers. I can call you mine right? LOL! I welcome your comments and hope to learn much from all of you. I have also started an unrelated blog that I hope you will frequent and enjoy. If you are so inclinded, go to www.worklessplaymore.blogspot.com . Regards, David |
