Most Recent Posts Mothering SundayPosted Mar-03-08 15:58:13 PST Yesterday Snowy and 4 Guides attended the Mothering Sunday Parade Service at church. We handed our Mothers the gifts we had made (decorated octahedron boxes) and we also told some jokes, yeah jokes in church. Mothering Sunday is known by lots of other names Holy Humour Day being one of them hence the Jokes. Guides took part in the service by reading prayers. Standard ServicePosted Mar-03-08 15:55:11 PST It was Standard Service last weekend, this is where the Division Standard Flag is passed ceremonaly from one district within the division to another. This year it went from District 1 to District 3. Our Guider Snowy carried the Standard. The Standard is extremely thin and long and should be paraded down the centre of church after the colour party except the lights were so low where the ceremony was being held that snowy had to walk down the left hand side narrowly missing the lights by cm, we all held our breath as she passed. The theme this year was Flowers and everyone had fun joining in with the singing and watching the Guides from District 3 dance. Trip to the CinemaPosted Feb-23-08 05:40:43 PST This week we ventured away from our meeting place to the Cinema. The girls had decided the previous week they would like to see Juno (12A) so the appropriate permission slips had been sent home with extra bits added so they could watch the film (some Guides are under 12). 5 Guides turned up. After buying drinks, sweets and popcorn, we settled in our seats, Sang 'Happy Birthday' to a Guide and she blew out the candle on the cake we had bought for her. Upon the start of the film Juno's knickers hit the floor.......the guides began giggling, the Guiders looked at each other thinking should we have let them come to see this........they seemed to settle until the condom presentation........ All in all it was good, maybe they will have learnt a little something from the film, hopefully, and won't become 'sexually active' what ever that is, too soon......... The sound cut out half way through so we complained and recieved free tickets to return, very handy seen as we have just started the film lovers badge. Tomorrow is Standard Service, the Standard is being past from Division 1 to Division 3. Snowy is carrying the Standard into the Service with another of our Guiders being part of her Guard. We will let you know how it goes......... Next week is Mothering Sunday so we will be getting crafty and it is also 'Parade'.........
