Most Recent Posts Don't be afraid of Internatinal ShippingPosted Aug-09-08 06:27:51 PDT As I stumble my way through my first 17 transactions, I have bought items in Hong Kong and Japan, Texas, California and New York. I also sold an Item to someone in the Philipines. I was amazed at the infrastucture that in place to facilitate shipping and the overall efficientcy of it all. We have obviously come a long ways from the days when just a simple letter could take six months to reach its destination if it made it at all. The world has deffinantly grown smaller. I am amazed that I could buy or sell an item half way around the world. What a market place. I didnt want the hassle of going through paypal or ebay when I shipped to the Philipines and I just wasn't sure what I was doing. I found that usps was the cheapest and even found a software tool , called shipping assistant that let me print the encoded shipping label that I took to the post office and that was that. The label I printed was the tracking number that they scanned into the system. For an old country boy that was pretty amazing stuff. Where would we be if old Al(Al Gore Ha! Ha!) hadn't invented the internet? As gas prices come down the best the dems and far left can come up with ,is that a sepculator in Ok. who has made kazelions from oil speculation went bankrupt.Posted Aug-03-08 13:20:31 PDT Well I suppose he could have spent himself into bankruptcy but if prices moderated by 25% because of his demise how come he went broke. We have a saying down here that a rising tide lifts all ship. I supose the adverse would also be true. I'd rather think he got caught long when prices headed south and couldn't get rid of his contracts in time. I'd rather think also that the presedent lifting the ban on far offshore drilling is what sent prices down and that if the do nothing but stonewall dem controled congress wwould do the same we would be looking at 2 dollar gas by election time. The stunt they pulled as they left town friday is reminnisant to something youwould see in the ex-soviet union. Free political speach is what the 1 st admendment is realy about after all. That was nothing short of an act by the third most powerfull politician in the country to sqaush free speach ervery freedom loveing american of all political persuasion should be demanding a complete investigation of this agregious act. Much needed rainPosted Jul-27-08 10:47:02 PDT Updated Jul-27-08 10:49:41 PDT Well down here on the Mississippi coast its been hot and dry but yesterday we got a day long reprive. It clouded up early in the day and then rained a good soaking rain for about four hours. Much ablidged! The recent heat wave has seemed to add fuel to the fire for the global warming craze, but I suppose It depends on were you are. I heard yesterday that if the current trend continues Achorage , Alaska Will have its coldest summer since humans there have recorded such things. Seems a little dishosnest , if not just intelectually dishonest to hype the heat but ignore the cold. After all , I've lived in the south all my life and it would seem abnormal to me if it didn't get hot. Down here they don't call them the dog days of summer for nothing. Just wondering if there is a nich or need of an oline hotline to help people who work on their own equipment troubleshoot problems that they don't have the technical know-how to solve.Posted Jul-24-08 17:20:35 PDT Updated Jul-24-08 17:24:22 PDT I have an ability to talk to people and help diagnose problems that they other wise would not know how to diagnose. I have wanted to start an online mechnical help line(for a price), but don't quite know how to expose the possability of such a service to sort of trial balloon. I have come up with the idea to offer the service for free to see if there is , would be, a demand for such a service. This blog may be the way to expose the idea to the net and search engines. Who knows? What do ya'll think? |
