Offer P{aypal, but with a Clause!

eBay states we must offer Paypal, so I have, but since my Credit Union will not do Transfers with Paypal, I will have to have Paypal send me a Check on your Payment and that will take up to 2 weeks to get to me. So, I have no choice but to inform buyers that I will hold item until Paypal payment reaches me and then 10 Business Days for thier check to clear, required by my Bank. This is NO fault of mine, but a result of eBays' policy.

So, I comply with eBays' Policy and because I have done so, Buyer will have to deal with the Aftermath of eBays Greed!

You don't have to offer paypal. Lots of sellers only accept money orders or personal check.

Earl...once you have the payment in your paypal account then it is yours. You do not have to wait for paypal to send it to you in the mail before shipping the item.

It is not mandatory that you offer paypal in your auctions. But it helps since most people pay with paypal. Once you have reached an amount you want (I think the minimum for bank transfer is 50.00, not sure how much if you have them send you a check) then you can have paypal send it to you.

I don't understand why your credit union won't accept transfers from Pay Pal.

My credit union holds all my banking, personal and business accounts. I transfer money from Pay Pal to my business account and pay Ebay fees with my personal checking account.

Doesn't sound like it's Pay Pal fault, but a problem with your credit union.

You could open up an account for your ebay transactions at a regular bank separate from your household account to transfer funds or whatever you want to do with it.

My Credit Union won't deal with Paypal because they are not a Banking Institution. Here's a copy of this fact from WIKI: In the United States, PayPal is licensed as a money transmitter on a state-by-state basis.[11] Although PayPal is not a bank in the United States, the company is still subject to many of the rules and regulations governing the financial industry including Regulation E consumer protections and the USA PATRIOT Act. Basically money held by Paypal is considered a "Gift", you get no Interest on the money they hold for you. And YES, eBay is now forcing you to except Paypal in listing. And you must upgrade to a Premier Account if someone tries to pay with their Credit Card through Paypal. So if someone pays with Credit Card, gets item, then tell their Credit Card Company, It's not what I ordered, Not what was described, etc. The Credit Card Co. can and will reverse the Charges for it's client regardless in most cases what Paypal has to say about it. Then the Money is withheld from the Seller by Paypal. And Bam, No Money, No Item! Paypal will not fight for you to get it back the money or item. Its' a Heck of a catch 22, forced by eBay to except CC, forced to deal with their Privately Owned Money Transmitter and when it goes bad for the Seller, they say "What we Do?" Its' has got to the point were eBay is in a Mess!

For now ebay is giving us the option of using PP or another merchant account. But they are forcing sellers to accept some sort of credit cards from buyers. We pay to list and sell our items on ebay, they are our selling venue. Yet they force us to take certain types of payments, ship a certain way or OH WELL, and make us pay huge fees t'boot. I think in a year or so we will no longer be able to accept ANY form of payment except paypal. I say let the SELLERT decide who pays the fees for PP, if the buyer wants that convenience, let the buyer pay the fees. If the seller wants to absord it, then the seller can pay the fees. Ebay has become so one-sided, people are leaving right and left. Greedy moneymongers.
