Why Does Acne Form?

Why does acne form and how can you get rid of it? This is one of the leading questions acne sufferers have today. This is a short post, because I just wanted to talk about the factors that affect and result in acne.

1. Overproduction of sebum - can be the result of imbalance in hormones
2. Bacteria - without bacteria, there would be no pimple, just a clogged pores
3. Other internal problems - there are tons of factors, stress, pregnancy, etc. that result in acne.

Acne isn't some easy cure, so obviously there isn't an obvious acne treatment for this problem. But, by treating those three issues I've mentioned above, there is no way your skin won't soon be acne free.

Suffering from Acne And Want to Rid it Fast?

There are a bountiful number of ways to treat your acne - you just have to search for ones that work. The best way to do this is to go to acne forums or see acne treatment reviews and learn which acne treatments are the best. However, not all acne treatment review sites are reliable, and many of them do in fact promote scams. That's where the acne forums come in. I highly recommend acne.org, where you can verify that acne treatments work.

Also, note that when one person claims an acne treatment is a scam, that doesn't mean it is one. For example, many people say Proactiv is a scam because it didn't work for them. However, Proactiv was successful on millions of acne sufferers, so this acne treatment does in fact work for 40% of the people who try it. But, the majority of acne sufferers are still left to seek another acne cure, which is what makes many acne sufferers very frustrated.

Always be sure you have reliable information when seeking out a good acne treatment.

Underlying Medical Conditions that cause Acne

Acne can be a symptom of an underlying medical condition, especially when it appears suddenly in adults. It is important if you suffer from acne, that you consider any other symptoms or ill health that you may also be experiencing. The acne will not heal until this underlying condition has been dealt with.

There are many medical conditions that can trigger acne, ranging in severity.

Diabetes
Diabetes is a difficult condition to diagnoses as it has many vague symptoms, such as acne, that do not immediately identify its presence. Some people may suffer from diabetes for years, sometimes with little or no symptoms at all before they realise they have the condition. If you suffer from acne, as well as general poor skin health, foot and hand numbness or tingling, blurred vision and ongoing urinary tract infections you will need to seek medical advice immediately. These vague symptoms however can also point to a number of other conditions as well that may need to be treated.

Cushing's syndrome
Cushing's syndrome is a disorder of the adrenal glands which leads to excess cortisol secretion. It has many symptoms including acne, and is usually picked up early in life as it affects puberty significantly. If you suffer from this condition, as well as acne you may suffer from retarded growth, delayed or early puberty, missed periods, extreme weight gain or other skin problems.

Polycystic ovary syndrome
A common indication of polycystic ovary syndrome in women is sudden eruptions of facial acne, especially if the patient has not suffered from acne before. Other symptoms of this condition include excess facial hair, irregular periods and obesity.

Ovarian and Adrenal tumours
Tumours can develop in the adrenal glands and ovaries, both of which can cause significant hormonal imbalances and the over production of the male hormone androgen. Acne is a common symptom of this condition, along with increased body and facial hair, deepening of voice, reduced breast size and absent menstruation. These tumours can develop at any age, so unusual occurrences of acne, combined with any of the other symptoms must be checked out by a medical professional as soon as possible.

There are many other underlying conditions that can cause acne and so you must also ensure to take note of any other symptoms or ill health you may be experiencing and seek medical advice. Always seek the best acne treatment that works specifically best for your skin type.
