I recently left my career in IT (software developer) to go into exporting African art & collectibles and eBay full time.

I must say - not driving in traffic and dealing with the world of IT stress (and yes - I know every industry has stress) - has made me much happier and calmer.  I'm doing what I love!

Just starting out - so not making any money yet - but that will come with hard work and perseverance.  It's been one long battle just to get here. It's a bit harder for us poor sods from Africa to sell on eBay (shipping, Paypal etc). But I'm  here now!

Found some wonderful sellers - my favourite is a man from Senegal - his stuff is the real thing.  He goes to Cote d' Ivoire and other places and brings back the most amazing stuff - most very old - and beautiful. He also has some relatively modern stuff - +-20 years old and younger, like his Colon figures.

Also taking a trip out of Johannesburg this w/e - to the more rural areas to source some goodies.
