Most Recent Posts Dreambathslimited010 - UnrecommendedPosted Mar-21-08 10:04:41 PDT Updated Mar-21-08 10:20:35 PDT I purchased a corner vanity unit, basin and tap from this particular Ebay shop on a "buy it now". My date of purchase was the 13th of March 2008. A Thursday. Paid for it via paypal straight away. Although i am incredible happy with the price, and eventually the product. It was a fight to get what i had paid for! Firstly, because the vanity unit, basin and tap were for a customer of mine i paid for next day delivery to avoid delay. The item arrived on the 19th of March! Hardly a next day delivery. Even if you allow for the weekend and say that the purchase on Thursday was too late in the day for a next day delivery. This still makes it 2/3 days late. I had to chase Dreambathslimited up on the Tuesday to prompt a delivery and was ensured there it would be with me the following day by 10:30am. I had my partner wait in for this item all day because of the urgency in which i needed it. It didn't arrive at 10:30 so i was on the phone again. At this time the person i needed to speak to was not available but i was assured i would be called back within the hour. This was at around 11:15am. 15:30pm is when i had a call from dreambaths Ltd. I was then told the products had been delivered at 15:18pm. I checked and indeed they had been left outside my door, no signature was taken, infact my partner who had been waiting in allday wasn't even disturbed by the delivery driver. However, the vanity unit was there, a basin in approximately 50 pieces, but no tap. The basin wasn't packaged accordingly to denote its fragile content. Infact it was merely placed in a cardboard box. No wonder it arrived as it did. Annoyed at not only my incomplete delivery, but also broken items i called dreambaths ltd again. I spoke to one of the "business partners" to be told that this had happened before with a package sent to Edinburgh. A corner basin much like my own had arrived in pieces. He blamed Businesspost! I'd blame the way in which the package was packed. I have had many dealings with business post and find our local delivery guys very helpful and prompt. To the extent that one of them actually has my mobile number and calls me to find out where i'm working so i can put my package straight in my van, or better yet install the product. Anyway, after a lot of arguing and excuses being made on the phone i was promised my tap and new basin would arrive the following day. The basin did arrive as promised on a next day, sign for, before 10:30am delivery. Why this couldn't of been done the first time i don't know. Especially as it's the delivery service i paid for! I spoke with the delivery driver of the basin because this time it needed signing for. I asked wether he delivered the broken basin. Apparently not, but his collegue that did had mentioned the fact it was already broken back at the depot when they had recieved it. Wether thats true or not i can not say. So, I have a basin but still no tap. The tap arrives late that evening (Thursday). I've not been able to complete the job until today (Good Friday) Its 16:44pm and i've just finished a full days work on a bank holiday. A bank holiday i did allow myself to have off. Realising that i've gone on a little too much here i'll end by bulleting a few of the things that disappointed me with this particular seller and Ebay transaction.
![]() ![]() ![]() I will however say that dreambaths did replace the broken item, and eventually delivered what was advertised. However, i believe marking up your postage costs to almost double what they actually are is wrong. The inconvinience and distress caused would certainly prevent me from buying from this Ebayer in the future and will also ensure i adopt a more thorough check of both products, auction and buyer in the future. |
