Hi I'm looking to buy a dishwasher and was wondering what brand you would recommend. I have a dishlex global 300,that gets stuck on the rinse cycle.Ihad it fixed a few months ago because it wouldn't start that cost over $200.00 to fix and now this!!

My personal pick is an Asko. I am also a service agent for Bosch and they are very good too. Miele are also excellent. Basically you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend any other brands as they all have problems.
Regarding the Dishlex, it is uncommon for electronic controlled machines to get stuck on a particular cycle. It most likely is not able to do something that it expects to be able to do at that point. For instance if it can't pump out because of a blockage, or it can't fill with water because of a faulty inlet valve, or it can't advance because it is waiting to heat the water then it may stop at a particular spot but usually it will eventually fail with an error and the error may give a clue as to what is wrong.
If you can tell me more detail about what the machine is actually doing at the time of the problem I may be able to suggest more specifically what may be wrong.

I have an Electrolux 307 vacuum cleaner that has been a great machine but the hose and fittings are buggered, are new hoses and fittings available?

Old Electrolux & Lux vacuum cleaners use standard 32mm fittings and a standard Electrolux 3 lug hose fitting at the machine end.
The original heavy duty hose with the woven cloth covering are no longer available, but there are several crushproof plastic hoses available which are suitable, both genuine and non-genuine.
We have several listed in our ebay store here:-

Complete Electrolux Hoses

Floor tools and other fittings can be any 32mm external fitting part which are the most commonly used type on the market.
Suitable tools and attachments can be found in our store here:-

32mm Floor Tools & Attachments

These old Electrolux machines are well worth keeping going as they are likely to outlast most new machines regardless of price or brand and most spares, parts and accessories are still available.
What they lack in fancy features and styling they make up for in quality and longevity.

Hi, I have a simpson dryer that has a filter at the back of the drum, the clip that holds the filter(mesh and plastic cover) has broken, what part do i need for that?

>> Hi, I have a simpson dryer that has a filter at the back of the drum, the clip that holds the filter(mesh and plastic cover) has broken, what part do i need for that?

If the dryer is a newer model (within last 10 years) and the clip has a small black plastic loop in the centre of the clip, then the part required is listed here:-

If the dryer is a very old model, it will be the part listed here:-

The new type part requires complete disassembly of the dryer to fit it.

Hi,Do you know when connecting a 2 element hot water heater can it be connected similtaniously?

>> Hi,Do you know when connecting a 2 element hot water heater can it be connected similtaniously?

The main idea of two element hot water services is to allow normal day rate power available all the time to be able to heat up the water if it cools sufficiently from excess use, while at the same time having the main water heating done by off peak rate electricity available only during the night rate off peak times.

In other words if you don't use much hot water, it will only reheat on the cheaper rate but if it is used a lot during the day, then the booster element will reheat immediately at the higher power rate, rather than being without hot water until the off peak period comes around again.

There is no reason why both elements can't be hooked up to the same supply simultaneously, but you will lose the functionality of having two elements. If they are both hooked up to night rate, then the tank won't reheat during the day if the water use is excessive. If they are both hooked up to day rate, then the tank will heat whenever it is required to, but no cost savings will be realised as with the off peak rate. It will heat up quicker than with only one element, but overall won't save any electricity.

Connecting up of a hot water service should only be carried out by a licenced electrician.

"sharp" microwave.....stopped working.....

"sharp" microwave.....stopped working.....when you punch the control pad nothing happens...no sound...nothing...however on the screen where the time shows up, it says 88:88 flashing over and over....any ideas ?

Most likely the touchpad itself is faulty. It will be flashing 88:88 because the clock needs to be set but if the panel has a broken track then this may not be possible and other functions won't work until the clock is set.

Contact me by ebay messages with the model number if you require a price and availability of the touchpad.
