I was on the way home yesterday when the police (the rock group, not the actual police) came on the radio with "every breath you take". I started laughing because I used to think at the part where sting says "how my poor heart aches" he said "I'm a pool hall ace" (which makes no sense)! This got me thinking about other songs I used to think I new the words to, but later found out I was wrong. Another was "Born to Be Wild", I used to think they were saying "Born Barnaby Wild." Don't ask me what "barnaby" means, I just thought that is what they were saying.
This line of thought lends itself to other things I believed as a child that I now know are false. The most ubsurd thing I used to think is that the world used to be black and white and at some point changed to color. I thought this because all the old shows were black and white and new shows were in color. There are more that I won't go into. But what are yours?
