Finally finished - my last commission - boxer dog, watercolorPosted Jun-23-06 06:14:13 PDT Updated Jun-23-06 06:20:36 PDT I hate doing commissions. I procrastinate (I know this, because it's then that I find myself doing housework instead of painting!), I suffer angst, and it's just not worth it. But this one was for a girl I work with, for her mother. I nearly ruined it. I was going to have a minimal background, but ended up doing the whole thing! It wasn't until I put it in a cream and gold double mount/mat, that it all seemed 'ok'. It took me hours. It's about 9.5x13". "Max" (sorry it's a bad photo!) http://www.jilliancrider.com/e-m.jpg Now I can get on with doing the art work I want to do. I need to get some ACEOs done, and listed. I promised a 'big cat' ACEO for a big charity auction and need to have that done by Sunday. Tomorrow I'm excited to be attending an 'altered book' class. Even though I used to teach these nearly 13 years ago, I'm looking forward to doing one in a class environment. The ownere of the store have asked me to bring along some of my ACEOs to show the others there. Things like this stretch your creativity. I take my artwork far to seriously, so this is 'fun' time for me. :) ~Jillian |
