No need for fearPosted Apr-08-08 06:58:59 PDT Updated Apr-18-08 09:22:44 PDT NO NEED FOR FEAR By Irving D. Larson
"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?"
A man had a little six-year old daughter, blind form birth, who was playing out in the garden while her father was seated on a bench awaiting the arrival of a friend who was coming to see him. When the friend came, he saw the little girl, and without saying a word he reached down and picked her up in his arms, and held her. As he talked to her, he said, " tell me, little lady, how is it that you were not afraid when I picked you up? You did not know who I was, for you could not see me." "That is true," She answered, "I did not know who you were, but my father did, and he would not let anyone pick me up that would do me any harm. So there is no need to be afraid." What a lesson here for the believer. God is our Father, and He sees and knows all things. Perhaps there are many times in out lives when the future seems to be a dark cave, but God is our light. Many times we are overwhelmed by the sense of our own weakness, but He is the strength of our lives. David here is simply saying in another verse what was said in Psalm 23," The LORD is my Shepard…I will fear no evil." David said "in this I will be confident." May we, also, have this confidence in our God.] O CanadaPosted Mar-30-08 13:31:31 PDT O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, We stand on guard for thee. Chorus God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada! Where pines and maples grow, Great prairies spread, and lordly rivers flow. How dear to us thy broad domain, From east to western sea. The land of hope for all who toil, The true north strong and free! Chorus O Canada! Beneath our shining skies, May stalwart sons, and gentle maidens rise. To keep thee steadfast through the years, From east to western sea, Our own beloved native land, Our true north strong and free! Chorus Ruler Supreme! Who hearest humble prayer, Hold thy dominion in thy loving care. Help us to find, Oh God, in thee, A lasting rich reward. As waiting for the better day, We ever stand on guard!
