Archive - January 2007 ProjectsPosted Jan-20-07 14:13:31 PST It's been a busy winter here so far. Most of you don't know this,
but in addition to this ebay store, we also do some interesting
fabrication and repair work in our shop. That's really how the
parts business came to be. We would find a product that we needed for a
project, and over time, had a pretty good list of items that we
trusted, that are a little hard to find. So, I decided to make
them a little easier for others to find. We may, time permitting,
start selling a few parts that we developed ourselves. One is a
pair of brackets that attach to the stock sunvisor mounting holes on
older Porshe 911's for attaching a "wink" wide angle mirror.
We're finishing up the installation of an improved front swaybar mount
for 911's....no more cracked chassis problems with this one. I
am also working on a couple of different brake cooling duct projects as
time permits. Here's a few things that are taking up some of our time. Doug's been flying around the country lately, prepping a 997 for the Daytona 24 hour race. car #42, owned by The Racers Group. back at home, there's a 1999 Porshe 996 getting a new engine. Next, a C4 Corvette getting a racetech seat, new belts, window net, fire extiguisher and kill switch. Also, the '87 911 getting the swaybar fix- the tub was cracked almost all of the way around the old 930-style swaybar mount. It's also getting prepped for PCA club racing with kill switches inside and out, a fuel cell and accumulator, seat and belt improvements, and a new carbon-fiber tail, plus a few other small items. After that's done, there's a BMW M Coupe we will fabricate a full cage for. Hopefully, we will have all of these finished by April, because that's when our other venture, Prosport Drivers Group, has the first event. By then, everyone will be itching to get on the track. Come out and join us if you're in the midwest. www.pdgevents.com |
