LAST WEEK in FEBRUARY - 10 AUCTIONS CLOSING

Hello,
This has been a busy time for me,
finishing some pieces that have been
waiting patiently for me..

I hope you all are not too tired of my Loons..
they are such a pleasure to paint.
This week I have a larger 16x20 of 2 LOONS.

And another 16x20, also a bird, but this one
is a Messenger, and more of a Spirit than a Bird.

Still up is the 8 x10 group of girls,
the 8 x10  Grandma with her girls under a Moon,
and the 8 x10  of 2 men in a canoe being
warned by an emerging Thunderbird
to get off the Lake before a storm blows in.

I guess I have been working too hard.
Tomorrow is Sunday, and I am going to
take some time to remember why I decided to
dedicate this time in my life to this art.
I have been missing the voice of my Mother,
and the laughter of my Grandma more than usual.
I will listen for them tomorrow, maybe they will
guide me again. Maybe Crow will visit instead, lol.

There is also an 11x14 painting I did while thinking
it will be good to return to my clan, I do not know
what our Dodem is. Long years ago My Great Grandma
was "Assimilated" by the British.. but there are ways to
know, discoveries yet to be made.. Anyway, the
painting I did of the several Clans is an expression of'
my longing to know.  and return.

Save your Search for BOUVETTE at eBay
and you will always and easily find my art.
I am trying to have all auctions end Mon - Thurs. I think
this week We have tues- thurs..  close.... :-)

as always, ENJOY!!!

AH CHOO!!!

I had a TERRIBLE COLD..
I was too ill to work, and to top
it off, some of the Art I had here for shipping and for
finishing was destroyed when some ink spilled and
some other trouble happened.. so I have posted up
for sale all the art that I have left and This weekend
I will start all over again.

I do have some Archival Prints still on the shelf, and
have files ready to make prints of many of my past pieces.
The Local shop where I have prints made is run by a
perfectionist, he has a very very expensive Giclee Printer
and he often gives me proofs he has done 6 times over just
to get them Perfectly Perfect..!!. So I have little sized copies
of my paintings pinned up all over the place,
to keep me from forgetting what I was doing..lol.

If anyone wants a print of a particular piece, let me know.
I cannot have more than 33 prints of any particular piece
made, and all would be Numbered and Signed.
Well, yes, I could have more made, but I have Promised
never to do more than 33 Prints of each painting.
AND for the Direct-to-Print Creations I do
on the computer, they cannot be printed more than
10 times, ever. They are also numbered and signed.
Those are my rules and I'm sticking to them.

The wild Turkeys are still living in the Trees on
Cemetery Hill behind my house. I do not know how they are
getting enough to eat, but they are fat and sassy. This morning,
for some reason, they gathered under the window where I sleep
made such a racket I had to give up on any more sleep. I do not
know what they wanted, they have never come so close to the
front of the house before now. It was only 15 outside this
morning, and I sleep with the window open a bit.. maybe they
were trying to find the heat source, I don't know...
But for me, It was a sort of wake-up-call from Nature
to get back to my art.

I am not taking any new commissions at this time,
but I do have a request.. Please send me suggestions for
what you might like to see in my Art. I like to paint what will
most please my audience, when I am not all excited about some
idea of my own.. and there are such times, when I want to paint,
but don't really have anything in mind. If you would send
suggestions, or even requests.. That will help me work,
and inspire and encourage me.  But I am not taking any
commissions just now as I hate to disappoint when ink
accidents (or lack of inspiration) attack.

My Studio building is slowly approaching completion.
It is just 10x20, but it is a sweet little place out back.
The interior walls are nearly complete, and then I
personally get to make all the woodwork. I love to
work with wood. I am going to have deeeeeep window sills
and wide, fancy window headers, with sweet grass and sage
hanging from the ledges, and cedar drying in a bowl, making
the place smell wonderful.

I have had to delay beginning work on that Ojibwe
Language Website, but I think I will also start in that this week.
I'll let you know when there is something to see. The
folks who provided the Grant are very Patient.. we are all
working in Indian Time, I guess...

I will continue the 10% rebate to list members, so be sure

and sign onto my e-mail list if you are going to be buying my art.

Did anyone notice Christian Morrisseau bought one
of my paintings?? He is the Son of the Late Norval Morrisseau.
Norval was the inspiration for my Metis Art.
Christian is also and Artist, faithfully following his father's style.

A COUPLE POEMS..
did I share any POETRY before this??

Bahweting is Sleeping
(Sault Ste. Marie is Sleeping)
by Ayla  Z "BOUVETTE"

Ashmun Street is quiet now, muffled in snow.
Bahweting is sleeping and it's 10 below.
Bahweting is sleeping while winter descends
pure white and deep. Though morning depends
upon snow plows and loud trucks clearing the way,
rumbling through and announcing the day;
Tonight all is quiet as heaven lays down
a blanket of dreams without making a sound.
Tonight all is silent, and as Bahweting sleeps,
winter's promise of beauty is a promise she keeps.

PETE's DRIVEWAY
Living in my Truck Camper, Winter 2005
by Ayla  Z "BOUVETTE"

Softened by the hidden heat
of not-yet-day sun arising,
the breathing air is less cutting,
now life-affirming, more kind.
Morning is coming.
Cramped legs stretch full length,
hunched shoulders relax.
Outside, ice falls in little snapping bunches
breaking free of the warming walls.
Not much winter left to fight.
A few more weeks of snow and loneliness,
long thin nights of cold bread and stale memories.
Not many zero below deadly stars to count.
Spring comes whispering
in the not-yet-day sun arising.
She comes dragging her thawing skirts
across the dark winter sky.

peace.

Slow time at My House..

I have sooooo much time to myself right now.
Time to think and dream and plan, and wonder.
The snow is deep already and the air is crisp and clean.
I feel really hopeful and a bit younger, a little lighter.

I have taken some time to catch up.
I am determined to complete all my commissions by the
end of the year, and do all my taxes as well..

Some fool who actually gets paid for doing taxes
told me the last few years that since I didn't make a
profit, I didn't have to file my tax return..!! HULLO!!!!
Now I find out if I sold more than $400 I HAVE TO FILE!!
So now, I have to re-build, re-create, re-discover.. somehow
find all the paperwork from the 4 years I was "homeless".
That will be a good trick!!

The Good news is that in 2007
I MADE MONEY AT MY ART!!!!
Thank you ALL for your support of my work.
It has been one of the sweetest experiences of
this decade in my life. Truly truly, thank you all!!!

Well, just wanted to stop in and say hello..
visit me here and maybe here...

Ayla
