Most Recent Posts Baby GirlPosted Jul-08-08 12:03:46 PDT I want people to know my story. I have arthritis and was on a Category X medicine when I accidentally got pregnant. ( No birth control is 100% effective) When I called my doc his nurse asked me if I was prepared to have a baby with brain-damage. I don't remember my response but I can think of some great ones now. I was scared to death but I believed there was already a person inside me (not just a clump of cells) and if this person was meant to be here I needed to give him or her every chance I could. I did a lot of quick research and found an ob/gyn who prescribed a medicine to wash out the deformity causing medicine and waited and worried. My beautiful little girl is 14 months old now and as smart as can be. She has hit all of her developmental milestones and even started walking at only 10 months. I am so happy that I didn't give up on this little baby. And yes she is spoiled rotten with love. We can't understand a whole lot of her jabbering other than momma and daddy, but I realized yesterday she was saying "love you". I think that is an appropriate first phrase since it is the one she heres most often from me. |
