I would like to share experience of making electric prayer wheels. It looks like very easy job, but in fact it is very difficulty. Buddha Wheel Company is the oldest maker. In marketing, more than 12 years. Until now, by what I know, in China, Taiwan and Nepal, no one can make a perfect electric prayer wheels.

Problems of 110V or 220V AC motors are: (98% makers use these kinds)

You should know paper rolls of prayer wheels are very heavy. For paper roll of 1 our prayer wheels, it need more than 2 pounds force to let it rotate. Ordinary PERMANENT MAGNET TYPE BEARINGLESS MOTOR DC motors are not so powerful. So Buddha Wheel Company invested money to invent motors for electric prayer wheels' specific requirement. The company has the patent in China.

You have to design your prayer wheels in balance. If not in balance, because prayer wheels are heavy, the force which put on the motor is large. And can make this kind of motor life time will become short or very short.

Not neck. That will very helpful to keep balance. There are reasons why we use these kinds of shapes. Some kinds of traditional prayer wheel shapes are very beautiful. But not ok for motor runing.

It is better putting a motor on the top of prayer wheels than putting a motor on the bottom of prayer wheels. ( This why I only sell motor-on-top model in my store. Even though, Buddha Wheel Company make some motor-on-bottom models, but I don't want to sell. )

This is the motors which we sell in store. If you want to buy to make yourself prayer wheels. Fine. But you should know:

1. The plugs of the motors designed specially for our prayer wheels. If you make yourself prayer wheels, don't complain of plugs.
2. There are 2 kinds of the type motors. One is for design of motor on the top. The other is for design of motor on the bottom. Because rotation direction of these 2 kinds of motors are opposite. And plugs are different. You should know what kind of rotation direction of motor you need.
3. We have put this kind of motors in marketing for 3 years or longer. Marketing has proved life time of our motors is > 3 years. Running very good. But if your design is not with good balance and makes motors' life very short. Don't complain.
4. We use ball bearing in our prayer wheels. If you don't use, and make life of motor short, don't complain.
5. If you want to put motors on the bottom of prayer wheels, the axis should be very straight, otherwise, motors' life will be short.
6. When we design our prayer wheels, we put some protection structure. So during shipping, or moving, it is ok. If your design doesn't have these, when you move the prayer wheels, and not hold it straightly, the weight of paper roll (It is heavy) can break motors. Don't complain. 

Problems of 220V DC PERMANENT MAGNET TYPE BEARINGLESS MOTOR motors are: (One maker in China specially makes for Electric Prayer Wheels)

1. 220 voltage is too high to be dangerous. Not OK for international trade. Customs have requirement.
2. I read on internet, they have a problem of oil leak.

II。Should use chemical-free charcoal for smoke offering:

V.   Formula of smoke offering :

               3-white&3-sweet is cheese,milk,(you can choose cheese powder or milk powder)butter,sugar,honey and brown sugar

            rate of flour and 3-white&3-sweet is 10:1

            So put 10 of flour, 1 of 3-white&3-sweet, little bit of smoke offering incense powder, and some small pieces of 5-color cloth together. Save into a non-metal bottle with a cover.

           (It is better: melt butter over moderate heat, add flour in and fry until become  little bit brown. Don't cook smoke offering incense powder. After cooked flour become cold, add little bit of smoke offering powder into cooked flour.) If you don't want to cook flour, O.K.

 

               

 

            When you do smoke offering, just put 1 or 2 spoon stuffs on charcoal. That is.
