Most Recent Posts Another day, another moron...Posted Jun-25-07 14:09:32 PDT So today I get yet another ASQ from some moron who expects me to take a $55 offer on an 8.3 gram 14K .40CT diamond bracelet seriously. Umm, I have two words for that and one of them is NO. I'm sure you can divine the other word. I'll take my torch and melt the damn thing down first. I am SO sick and tired of people who can't get it through their thick skulls that offering a lowball amount on an item that is CLEARLY worth more just as SCRAP is not only stupid but likely to get them roasted on a slow spit. Of course I reported the twit for making an offer to buy off eBay, and I'll be glad to SHARE the twit's ID for anyone who wants to add this incredibly nervy person to their BBLs. I'm generally fairly easy to deal with but I can't STAND it when people treat me like I'm an idiot because I'm far from it and I tend to get VERY testy when my intelligence is insulted. Even more so when my CAPITALISM is insulted. If I want to make friends I'll go to Side Street Beads to the Backroom and hang out with real people. If I want to make money I'll sell my items for what they're worth. If I want to be insulted I'll look up one of my two ex-husbands. They're professional insult-slingers ;) Make a stupid offer on one of my items and I'll ventilate you like bird shot through aluminum cans. We GRITS (Girls Raised In The South) know how to open an industrial sized can of WHOOPASS. There's no such thing as a free lunch...Posted Jun-07-07 14:02:44 PDT ...but some people clearly want one anyway. I look at my seller ratings and see that my rating for shipping and handling charges is less than perfect, which makes absolutely NO sense to me since I ship for FREE. The only thing I could do to improve on this is to PAY people to take the items. How is FREE shipping and handling NOT fair? I offer the options of priority and express services at customer expense if they need items faster, I have no control over USPS transit times for first class and I pack my items exceptionally well in very nice gift packaging. I even offer a 10% discount to return buyers for their second purchase. If I was any more accommodating I'd be a hotel concierge. I realize I'm venting, but it just amazes me that even when people GET something for nothing they're still not happy. I think this is taking "It's a free country" just a LITTLE bit too far. How do I get myself into these things?Posted May-21-07 17:19:16 PDT So I get out the ear cuff I've had for years to put a cute little pendant on it and I decide that the Swarovski© crystals on it won't match everything I wear and I hit my regular wholesaler for some gold wire and beads so I can make another one that will match everything, except they have such a great selection of stuff and such absurdly high prices that I start shopping around for another supplier, which I find. I then find some great stuff from the new supplier and better prices, but they don't have ALL the stuff I want so I make my way back here and find WAY more than I needed to find and go on a shopping spree and get this wild inspiration to start making the darn things out of precious metals for people who have allergies and can't wear jewelry constructed of gold-filled or gold-plated or otherwise irritating components. Then it just kind of snowballed and now it's B.Lo*s Bent, Warped & Twisted, with a line of products ranging from Earbenders™ ear cuffs, Bendles™, Warples™ and Twistles™ pendant drops for the Earbenders™ and necklaces (dealer's choice) and Karmic Chameleons, a line of earrings with changeable, exchangeable drops that you can switch with your moods. My teenager is hand-making the display cards, she's also developing her own line of jewelry, Caitlin's Curlicues, and my younger two are going bead-crazy as well. As if I wasn't bent, warped and twisted enough already. |
