Answer to wonders of ebay post

After 3 yrs, 100% feedback, until new system, a long term successful retail mgr. agree with both sides.
The keys are gone.
Hit twice in a few weeks , ebay has proof it was shop lifting- morter word- extortion attempt - e-comm verbiage,
ebay let it go, even tho it wrecked the stores rep.
I ask for nothing except a level playing field; ebay store is $16.+ per item charge + 12 % fvf + paypal fee.
$15.00 a month is wrong.
No protection is wrong. Saying they will police but only for buyers is wrong. Sellers pay more than buyers.
Sellers also buy.
So, in totality, I disagree. BTW , have another store. Do have high fdbk, not in blogs.
Safe there, not getting hit.

ebay is turning into the stuff of nightmares for all sellers.....I have had more non-paying bidders just the last two months than in all of last year! no way to tell now who's a good buyer or not.......Shameful!

I agree with you BENGEL...your situation is VERY wrong. The situation was WRONG!! The buyer was wrong.....

However....with me being in retail for sooooo many years I have had to "suck it up" so many times it is unbelievable. IF I were faced with the situation you were in with a $3.99 toothbrush....and the REPUTATION of my Business were at stake....what would I have done in the circumstances...KNOWING what the outcome was going to be?

I would have refunded the $3.99. Believe me....I have had to do MUCH worse in Brick and Mortor situations. The motto the customer is always right....well that is how I operated in "my real job" it was known by all my Mangers to give the customers what they wanted because if the complaint got to my level I was going to give them what they wanted....so why go through the all the headaches? Now IF it was a pattern with a particular customer that was a different story....but the first time or even the second time....give them what they want!! As you pointed out it is NOT worth hurting the reputation of the STORE!!
