how to fix?

As a lot of people are having reblooming problems-

basics

fertilize every 3 weeks and water well-

avoid fertilizers that burn- if it says once- i would not use it-

add banana peels to soil-

dry in sun - crinkle and plant 1/2 dollar size pieces 5 " away from bulb.

Attracts worms.

if you must container plant- keep it { the soil} at least 1 foot deeeper than bulb.

oak leaves are great for building strong plants -as are grass clippings-sun dried- no pesticides.

keep elm leaves away.

keep pine needles away- wrong P.H.

Failure to give adiquit depth and food will leave dahliahs and other large bulbs in a near starvation state.

well fed bulbs reproduce each year.

Saving the bulbs is difficult - in cold areas- remove after 1st frost-

put in basement to alllow foliage to die back naturally -

Cut off only as it turns brown;geen is bulb food.

Keep off floor- in a box of peat - they will not dry out .

Next spring ; seperate bulbs and bulblets . Grow 2 ft apart ; 1 if necessary.

NEVER water plant ; always ground around plant. Dahlias are medium waterers ; cannas are heavy.

Cannas do well with a daily drench .Enjoy the flowers.
