Archived Vladuz Auctions 3/10/2007 partial

The page has eBay imposed size limit of 100K so I could not fit the complete listing of auctions gathered in past 48 hours, hence this blog originated as archive of older auctions. For additional info on Vladuz, Seller Account Hijacking and Security visit this discussion in eBay Trust and Safety Discussion Forum.

  1. .... this list was long but all items are now over a year old so they were deleted.
  2. If you wanted to know who is Vladuz, or was ... he has not surfaced in public life for over 9 months now... just Google for Vladuz eBay

I will make more room on about ME page today, moving some older Vladuz auctions to this blog and repost the Q & A Section, which I also had to temporarily archive to make room for the Auctions Listings. The Q & A will answer your question healthyjerky4u

What, or whom, exactly is "Vladuz"?
Is a hijacker? A nickname for scammers in general? Fake auctions??

I'm serious about this because I planning on buying a SonyEricsson K800, a resonably fast-selling, high-valued item.
A few weeks ago I was bidding in an auction and all of a sudden this fake buyer started to outbid me to the skies...at the end he won the aution for like $450, which is way higher than K800's real price range! Later on, seller told me it was probably on of these Nigerian scammers.

Now I'm watching on several K800's from different sellers, with prices starting from $310 (US sellers) going way up to $430 (GBP215) from UK sellers. This UK seller (http://myworld.ebay.com/g3i/) seems genuine to me, so should I think twice before choosing one of those S310 priced items? I'm watching K800's from the following sellers:

http://myworld.ebay.com/brasscorpcanada/ (bidding auction)
-> from canada, he has only 7 points, and has 4 units for sale, no other similar products, but seems honest
http://myworld.ebay.com/cellpoint_inc/ (buy it now: $374)
-> seems to be a fine seller, although a little expensive it's not a scam for sure
http://myworld.ebay.com/g3i/
-> UK seller, is legit for sure, but the most expensive of all
http://myworld.ebay.com/ubiqinc/
-> now this last one is a little weird. has good feedback, sells other similar items, all in all seems to be honest. HOWEVER:
1) for just $305, seller will send you the phone PLUS a 512MB memory card, a $30 value, for free. now isn't that a little odd??
2) I sent a question to the seller via "Ask seller a question" option. Within 24 I received a response, with the same signature name at the bottom (ubiq), but from ANOTHER seller!! (http://myworld.ebay.com/kinkigoods/). So is this "ubiq" company user ID "ubiqinc" or "kinkigoods"?!?! how is it possible for one seller to respond a message on behalf of anonther seller??

You see, since I'm buying from Brasil, paying and being scammed later on will a be a rea

Hi I tried to reply by eBay messages but since I have 0 feedback eBay system will not let me even reply to questions, so hopefully the blog will provide the answer

What, or whom, exactly is "Vladuz"?
you can search google for the two words
vladuz ebay
and google will tell you more than you wanted to know

Is a hijacker? A nickname for scammers in general? Fake auctions??
and yes - all of the above, Vladuz is just one of the scammers on eBay contributing to honest eBay members being scammed here

regarding your questions on the specific items:

PHONE HIM/HER : use ask seller a question and see if the seller would be willing to answer some of your questions over the phone, just be honest, tell them that you are concerned about buying safely on eBay and that you would love to bid on their item(s) but first if possible you would like to make sure they are real and ask them few questions over the phone, if they would be kind enough to give you their phone number... any seller on high end item unwilling to answer questions over the phone to prospective buyer would be seriously killing their sales prospects, I sell $25 items and get these types calls all the time as customers first want to make sure we are real... I publish phone numbers in all of our stores so customers would be able to call us without having to ask for phone number

most scammers are not proficient in English language which is another sign of hijacked account,

phoning the seller for high value item is not an extraordinary request

to your other concern,
how is it possible for one seller to respond a message on behalf of anonther seller?

My rule if in doubt, dont do it! e.g. do not bid on such auctions if you do not feel comfortable or if you think something is wrong.... just wait for the next round of auctions, watch the seller(s) for a week or 2 or 3 - similar items are added to eBay daily so only enter to transactions you are perfectly comfortable about, no need to make hasty deal and risk f
