Brandon and i come from different backgrounds... I'm Filipino and he's American.... we got engaged December 16, 2007, recently purchased a home this past January. we decided that we would get our house first before getting married.... and so we did. our new home, however, was a foreclosure and needed some repairs. most of my money I've saved for my "big day" have gone into our home (20% down payment plus closing costs, hardwood & carpet costs & installation, kitchen & bathroom tiles & installation, new appliances, new cabinets, new furniture, privacy fence, etc..... you get the picture.) Brandon is paying our monthly mortgage while i pay back all my credit cards used for some of the house repairs and utilities. at the same time, I'm paying extra on our mortgage towards our principal and our quarterly hoa dues. as you can see me, I'm almost tapped out when it comes to the finances of our July wedding next year. unfortunately, my family is not able to financially support our wedding day... and the same goes for his family....
i'm currently putting aside money monthly towards the wedding into a CD savings account.... by may 2009 i'll have a little over $10,000.00. i'm prepared to charge up my credit cards again for deposits to the different vendors that will be hired for the wedding..... although i'm prepared to do that, i really don't want to. as of right now, i'm the one that will be financing most of the wedding (95% of it). i've set a budget of $15,000.00........ but realistically, i don't think that will be enough. i've hired a wedding planner to help me plan out my event (thinking that we can get this done within our budget). but the more i think about it, the more i realize that $15,000.00 might not be enough.
i've been reading some articles about wedding sponsors and i was wondering if i can get some help or suggestions about it. even though our wedding date is not til july 2009, i honestly don't think that i'll be able to save anymore money than what i'm already saving. i'm currently a bartender, and though i make good money, i still have obligations to pay back all the credit cards and loans i've taken out to fix up our home plus my monthly obligations.
to sum all of this up, i am asking for help or suggestions on how to get sponsors for our wedding.
if there's anyone out there that knows how to get sponsors or any vendors that would like to help out, please let me know......
