Most Recent Posts finally listedPosted Aug-26-07 17:56:19 PDT well, i was finally able to list some solid items. i never reallized how time consuming it can be to list clothing. still, it's through the store, and i have received some really very well taken care of clothing. the boots i listed, it's killing me to list them, no respectful Evangelist in trainng could wear boots like that and not get a side glance from the other parishoners, but that's church folk for ya. hopefully everyone will understand that being these items are through the consignment shop, not everything is going to be perfect. i have to admit that most items are in impeccable if not new with tags condition. i had to do a lot of research before i began listing, so i could understand the e-lingo. i think i am doing a good job though. hope everyone has a chance to take a peek at what we have listed for now. more items on the way this week. how new is new?Posted Aug-22-07 17:12:23 PDT how new is new when it comes to accepting items in the store? sometimes i have to shake my head at the questions i am asked. like, "how new is new?" well...if there's a tag on it, that means it was never worn. wouldn't you think that's what it means? shopping in a consignment shop is not much different from shopping at say, jc penny's or walmart...except some things are slightly used. anything i can't sell because there is a stain or something on it, i put in the free pile and just ask for a donation for the "building fund"...most of the items are good for summer play. anyway, this week one of my favorite consignees came in with 4 bags full of designer clothing. i love her, i do. BUT...she smokes. as soon as she came into the store, i sang to her, "I smell cig...uh...rettes." "No, no that's just me!" but it truly was her clothing as well. but what can i do? she has good stuff, most of it is new..so i air them out, spray them down with febreeze, tag 'em and rack 'em...now i'll ebay them too. she was excited about that. but God, i just wish she wouldn't smoke! |
