The Cutest Little Girl In The World...

I've been super busy... No time to do my regular posts... But I just had to share this characature of my little girl!!!

My listing gets noticed ...and this week's comic books!

If you're a comic book fan, you're probably familiar with Wizard Magazine. For those not familiar with the mag- Wizard is a popular magazine about comic books. I make it a habit to pick it up every month...
Last week, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the latest issue of Wizard and saw one of my eBay listings prominently displayed in an advertisement appearing on the VERY FIRST PAGE!!!
The ad is for the comic book grading company, CGC. In the ad, CGC quotes a $217 selling price for a Near Mint (NM), ungraded copy of Miracleman #15, and then compares the price to a quote for a CGC 9.8 graded copy that sold for a record $899. The ad also gives the item numbers for the books, and when I did a search for the graded book (using item number 270203358348, from the ad), THE SEARCH LED DIRECTLY TO MY LISTING!!!
How 'bout that!
Anyways... on to this week's comics!

COMIC BOOKS I BOUGHT THIS WEEK…
I'm having a busy week, so I didn't get a chance to get my list out sooner. As a result, this is a list of the books I've already bought (Wednesday) as opposed to the books I'm going to buy...

ABE SAPIEN THE DROWNING #3
ACTION COMICS #863- With Superman at full power, this issue should feature the big fight I’ve been waiting for!
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #555- Chris Bachalo is the new artist on the next three issues of Amazing Spider-man. Bachalo was one of my favorite artists about 10 years ago, and I’m really excited to see what he does with ol' web-head!
BOYS #17- I can’t believe Boys is already on issue #17! But, as always, I’m sure this issue will be good for a laugh.
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #13
DETECTIVE COMICS #843- From the looks of the cover, Batman villain, the Ventriloquist, is back. The Ventriloquist is one of the more absurd Bat-villains- which also makes him one of the more fun villains!
KICK ASS #2- Issue #2 didn’t disappoint. Kick Ass expertly explores the unfortunate reality of super-heroic vigilantism. And the results are pretty gritty.
LOGAN #2- I loved number one! This series takes place in Wolvie’s past, during WWII. I can’t wait to see if Logan survives the atom bomb by leaving Japan or despite being at ground zero of the bomb drop! My bet is on the latter.
PROJECT SUPERPOWERS #2- I almost didn’t pick-up this book because the title doesn’t appear on the cover. What a bad selling move on the publisher’s part…
SECRET INVASION #1(recommended read)- Could this week’s recommended read have been any other book? Who’s a Skrull? …To avoid online spoilers, I read this book immediately! It really lived up to the hype!
Very well written and drawn!
Common all you guys who've been waiting to try out superhero comics... get this book! It's great!!!
ZORRO #2- After only one issue, I’ve already decided to commit to buying this book every month! It’s THAT good! Publisher, Dynamite Entertainment also publishes The Lone Ranger comic book, and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time ‘til a Zorro/Lone Ranger crossover. I can’t wait!!!

All Star Superman... and the rest of this week's comic books!

COMIC BOOKS I'M BUYING THIS WEEK…
STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF OLD REPUBLIC #26 (VECTOR PART 2)- the year-long crossover between all the Dark Horse Comics, Star Wars titles continues. So far, the way the books will connect isn’t obvious (I can't fugure it out), but I’m willing to stay with it!
...Let’s see where it goes.

ALL STAR SUPERMAN #10 (recommended read- pictured above)- Beautifully drawn, with a story that’s always smartly delivered and fun for the reader. Perfect for those of you who have never tried Superman or have been away from the character for a while. Warning… If you read this comic, you’re gonna get hooked!
FREDDY VS JASON VS ASH #6- My prediction… Freddy goes back into the night, Jason goes back into the lake, and Ash becomes the first character to indefinitely survive an encounter with these two boogie-men. Congrats Ash! First Marvel’s Zombies and now this! You just might be the most powerful character in all of popular comic books!
JACK OF FABLES #21
SECRET HISTORY AUTHORITY JACK HAWKSMOOR #1- this comic is a “maybe purchase” for me. I’ll flip through it at the store.
WIZARD MAGAZINE #199

...and this week's comic books!

COMIC BOOKS I'M BUYING THIS WEEK…
BRAVE AND THE BOLD #11- I’ve yet to be disappointed by this team-up book. Since issue #1, there has been a recurring mysterious plotline going-on throughout the series. Every issue features a cast of characters different from the previous month, and it’s neat the way each character fits into the recurring story. This issue or the next should bring the mystery to a head.
FABLES #71
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #19- …Villains are being transported to an other-dimensional prison. Didn’t we already see this last year in Marvel’s Civil War? Whatsupwitdat!?!
SUPERMAN BATMAN ANNUAL #2- I’m not completely sold on this comic. I’ll flip through it in the store to decide whether or not to make the purchase...
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #554
CAPTAIN AMERICA #36
IMMORTAL IRON FIST #13 (recommended read)- Even though this series is currently in the middle of an ongoing storyline, new readers should still give it a try. With colorful heroes & villains, an intriguing back-story, and awesome kung-fu action, I challenge anyone to read an issue of Immortal Iron Fist and not be hooked! I can't say this enough: "Immortal Iron Fist" it the best superhero comic book currently being produced." This book should be one of the top selling comics every month!
"...So go out and buy it, already!"
"DANG!!!"

Off to see the Wizard... and this week's comic books!

The monthly-waits between issues are becoming unbearable!
All except one of the books I’m buying this week are the second chapters of ongoing storylines. As a result, the one book I’m buying that’s not mid-story became the defacto recommended read. Though frankly, I recommend them all if you can find last month’s issues as well…

COMIC BOOKS I'M BUYING THIS WEEK…
ABE SAPIEN THE DROWNING #2- Creepy… suspenseful… well drawn… and full for interesting info to add to the Hellboy mythology… I fell in love with this book with last issue. Man!!! I can’t wait to see Abe in action on the screen (in this summer's Helloby II movie) again!
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #553- I love Phil Jimenez’ art, but I miss the paint-like style of Artist Salvador Larrocca in the prior story arch. Larrocca totally set the bar for what I’d like to see every issue on Amazing Spider-man
FANTASTIC FOUR #555- O.k. all the main players were properly introduced last month. I’m expecting a bit more action in this issue.
LOCKE & KEY #2- Horror master, Stephen King’s little boy is all grown up and writing comic books under the pseudonym, Joe Hill. Pretty interesting stuff…
PUNISHER #55 (recommended read)- Garth Ennis has written every issue of this series. He begins his last Punisher story here. And I’m sure he’s gonna go out with a bang! I’ve only been reading Ennis’ Punisher since issue #50. And let me tell you, it is FAB-U-LOUS! I’ve gotta go back and pick up the trade paperbacks of all the earlier issues! Once you read this book, I’m sure you’ll be hooked. But be forewarned, it is not for the light-hearted, and definitely not for kids.
STAR WARS LEGACY #21- The current storyline is heavy on the Star Wars political mumbo-jumbo. If you don’t read Legacy regularly, it can be hard to follow. As a long-time reader, I’m having a hard time keeping track of all the different factions involved. That being said, I’m still very much entertained.
UN-MEN #8- This storyline deals with a horror topic that gives every guy the creeps- MALE PREGNANCY!

THANKS FOR THE PURCHASE…

Thanks to last week's sales to i4curok and supermanelvis, I'm off to the Wizard World Los Angeles comic book convention this weekend! I hope to get a bunch of sketches, a few books signed and some cool swag! Also, my son is entering the Guitar Hero 3 tournament! Wish him good luck!!!
