"So what's the big deal?" you might ask... Well, the "big deal" is that the comic book is written by Richard Donner, legendary director of the classic, Superman: The Movie, staring Christopher Reeves. If you're a fan of the original Superman Movie, and would like to read a great superhero story with fabulous artwork, you should check out this book! ...I've even made it easy for you. I picked up a couple of extra copies at the comic book store today. Click on my "View items for sale" link above and Buy it now! You'll be glad you did! A preview of the first few pages of the book can be seen here. Also... Next month, fans of Donner's Superman will finally be able to see the "Donner cut" of the movie, Superman II. Warner Brother's is releasing a new version of the film on DVD- includes footage removed from the movie after Donner was fired from his directing gig. Hollywood’s infatuation with comic books has lead to numerous movies adapted from, and inspired by, comic books. Movies such as Batman Begins, X-men: The Last Stand, and Fantastic 4 are easily traced back to their comic book roots. But a film’s comic book lineage isn’t always so obvious.

Do yourself a favor… If you’re near a television, turn it to your local NBC channel and stay tuned for Heroes. This is an absolutely amazing show! Comic book fans, Lost fans, or fans of any serialized action/drama will love this show!
Millions have already caught on to Heroes, but I’m always looking for new recruits. I want to make sure this show has a long life, and the only way that will happen is if the ratings stay high and/or improve! So I’m doing my best to get the word out and increase the audience!
As a comic book geek, I couldn’t ask for any more from a prime-time television series!
Check out the cool promotional comic books and buttons selling on eBay. If the final prices for some of these items are any indication, it appears that the fans are rabid for Heroes material! The final selling price of this awesome prop from the show will be an interesting indicator of how passionate Heroes fans are! I’m still debating whether I’m going to bid or not… MAN, I want to bid soooo bad!
Hopefully I can convince a few of you to tune in. Trust me; you’ll be glad you did (and if you’ve missed the first few episodes, you can get a recap at NBC.com ).
Feel free to post a comment or send me an email with your impression of the show. …and don’t forget who turned you on to your new favorite series ;-) |
