Jobs that sound cool, but at a second glance?Posted May-28-08 12:37:43 PDT Wolfgang Meirder is credited with giving us the quote The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.
Have you ever thought this about your job? Have you ever romaticised about another type of job/career? I am sure we all have. Here a few interesting jobs, that might look greener but at a second glance... Vacations and my first ebay salePosted May-28-08 12:20:27 PDT Updated May-29-08 05:31:13 PDT It's about an 8 hour trip to my parents house. My oldest daughter (who is now 3) isn't going to sleep the whole car trip as she did when she was younger. And my youngest doesn't sleep in car trips much anymore either. To solve this problem, we decided to leave around 2am. This way the kids sleep most of the car trip and don't even notice the trip. I guess to them it must seem pretty fast. It is also important to schedule a "buffer" day at the end of the vacation, especially when travelling and with kids. It seems as I get older, vacations get less and less relaxing, is it because I have kids or is it just me? I'm getting more and more addicated to ebay, and have made myself a little "Ebay sellers kit" that includes things like wrapping paper, a digital scale, packing tape, measuring, etc etc. I like to pack everything up shortly after listing it, measure the dimentions for shipping and weight and I write it in pencil on the parcel itself. This services a couple of puproses 1) Confidence that the item will sell. It's all packed up and ready to go 2) Quick Shipping: When the item sells, I can get it out the door immediatly 3) Easy paperwork. I love how PayPal automatically prints the shipping labels for me, it's so easy ! But they don't carry over the weight info, so by writing in on the box, I can easily fill it out again in PayPal later To hear an audio version of this entry check it out here: Vacations and Ebay |
