-Bryan Ivory - Farce!Posted Dec-24-07 18:26:46 PST Sell it in the USA between yourselves!
Read my other blogs IvoryPosted Dec-24-07 18:01:42 PST Updated Dec-24-07 18:15:14 PST In an email from Ebay to me:
Sellers are generally permitted to sell products made from or containing ivory on eBay.com. However, the seller: - Must legally possess and be legally permitted to sell the item, - Must be a registered member of the U.S. site, - May only offer the item for sale to buyers in the U.S., and - May only offer domestic shipping from a location within the U.S. So who checks to see if the seller legally possess? ...and is legally permitted to sell the item? I have seen ivory tusks being sold in the USA on Ebay without any legal permit being posted. Just "Can only ship to USA Customers" as a qualifier! serrebro: It was not a spoof! IvoryPosted Dec-24-07 17:35:33 PST It seems OK to sell Ivory on Ebay in the USA to USA citizens.
You cannot sell Ivory on Ebay to a USA citizen from another country.
Does this not encourage smuggling into the USA of all kinds of Ivory products?
Is Ebay aiding and abetting smuggling?
Why doesn't Ebay just stop all Ivory products and put an end to it?
Your opinion on this please??? |
