Some ramblings!Posted Jun-01-08 17:27:58 PDT Just some ramblings about the south: Why in the deep south do all the store pull their t-shirts and shorts and put out sweaters, coats and all kinda winter stuff we MIGHT not even NEED that year - last "winter" was not too cold - I put on my sweatsuit material, knee length cloak thing that I've had worn for maybe 10 or over years (I can't find another to replace it - so it will be worn until it's in threads!) on about 10 times last "winter" and didn't even get my coat out AT ALL - before you sale out and move down here, as mild as the winters are - the summers are heck! With temps ranging in the 90's and humidity at about 90% and the heat index over 100 on most days - not to mention the mosquitoes!!!! And what else - rednecks - no offense if your are, consider yourself to be, or aspire to be a redneck, that lifestyle is just not for me -although I DID date a few goat-ropers. I am an inside the air-conditioned house country girl - I want to be where I have to WALK to the neighbors - not just spit and hit them and besides I was born here - I live a mile from my childhood home and my sister live here too - one in momma's house and one in a trailer on what was momma's land. My aunt and uncle are both semi-rednecks - but they do have clothes other than cowboy shirts - although their major past times are hunting and fishing - as long as they invite us to the fish fries and DON'T try to give me deer meat (you can say all you want about how good venison is - I just can't eat a cute little deer) - fine by me!!!! So I'll put up with the rednecks and even be friends - just so long as that steak we ate at their house last night wasn't DEER! That's about all I have to say about the south now! Except it's hot down here and I wanna go someplace cool. My dream is to win Publisher's Clearing house and have a summer homw in the north and live down here in the winter - just with a heated pool!
