Happy Sunday my friends...I grabbed this one from the website. I get calls from brides all day, all the time about booking for their wedding, but the funny thing is, they never ask any questions other than "how much does it cost?" and "are you available on this date?". There is a bit more to it and to help you find someone to fit your needs, here's a few guidelines to go by! Enjoy! Everything you need
to know to hire a makeup artist for your
2. Ask if product used for foudation is color keyed for film and lighting - remember, flurescent, tungsten, candle light and natural light will give the same product 4 different colors on your face. 3. Ask about contouring your face. 4. How will the artist comouflage any blemishes? 5. What about the lipstick used? Yours? Hers? What do do for touch ups? 6. Trial runs are a must! Insist on it! 7. Photograph your trial run, preferably with the camera style that your wedding will be covered with; either digital or celluloid. no polaroids please. 8. Longevity: temperature sensitive, sweating, lights and stress: how will the product wear? 9. Get a contract for arrival time, departure time, number of guests, services provided and total cost of services signed with a deposit before the wedding date. 10. What is the artist's main genre of makeup and their training background? There are many questions to ask while interviewing an artist. Don't be intimidated! This is your wedding so act like it! If you need more help or information, please contact the website and congratulations on your wedding! Goodluck ladies! Your makeup coach Cherelynn Bakerwww.makeupuniversity.com Does your foot callus require a Home Depot power tool sander to smooth out the rough spots?Posted Apr-28-07 13:50:54 PDT It's summer time...summer sandal time. Cutesy open toed and heeled shoes that require a pedicure and possibly a power tool to make the foot more presentable to the public. Okay...here's a short lesson for today and a reason to hit the spring and Mother's Day sale racks in the shoe department. If going to a weekly pedicure appointment isn't in your budget or time planner...at home, there are some things you can do. I get the weekly pedicure, but I also do this at home:
Rinse, dry, slather, I do mean slather on your creme of choice to moisturize the foot, olive oil works too, and now go to bed in those 100% cotton socks. Your feet will come around to smooth pretty ready to be displayed ina dainty shoe in no time! I use the body duo of anti aging nutrimin C on me feet and flab and it works great. And I always wear socks with my moisturized tootsies at least 3 time a week. I would show you some dramatic photos, but I haven't figured out how to put it in the blog. Later... I suppose. Enjoy this beautiful weekend! Love ya! Cherelynn www.makeupuniversity.com p.s. I"m spending my weekend doing the podcast thing...they should be up in a week! How to use self tanner and not look like an orange oompa loompa or something from a box of shake and bakePosted Apr-27-07 12:46:24 PDT Hello my ebay friends! I see it all over, and I get this question alot...how do I self tan? What do I do about orange palms and knees, elbows and ankles that look like left over hindi art? Here's a step by step plan to help you protect your skin from damaging sun rays, plus not be in a tanning bed. 1. Exfoliate first...use a scrub paste or the mitts that are .99 at walmart or your local drugstore. Get everywhere on your body that you plan to tan, plus do a little extra effort on the knees, feet, hands, elbows. The natural loofahs tend to rot and grow bacteria so beware, and it's fine to put your body mitts and poofs in the dishwasher to sanitize. 2. Moisturize...cover your body with a light coat of lotion..here's the secret...especially the knees, elbows and ankles, in between fingers, heels, the armpit area ( you know how you get white pits with orangy rings around them? ...moisturize the area first. 3. Work from the feet up ( so the bending is done with and you won't put color on a creasing body part!) If you want to wear gloves to protect your palms, the inexpensive household paint gloves work just as well as the kind you buy at the beauty supply store. 4. Rub it in and rub in circles...it really cuts down on the chance of being streaky 5. Stand a moment, and let it dry! When you don't feel a tacky wet stickiness to your skin, you are ready There, now you know how to self tan. There are sprays available to do your back...in this case, put the loofah on a stick, put the lotion on a wad of paper towels on the end of the stick to moisturize the skin. I know you look good and like you have the Bain de Soleil tan...remember the commercial? Do you want to talk about tanning spray booths? I like them but am concerened about what I inhale while in there and only use it in a pinch. I always self tan...even though I live in Arizona. I love herbal botanical products and also have concern about just what is in the spray mist that goes on me and in me... Finally, do you want to chit chat about products? Sure, I have faves that I can recommend, but this is a lesson, not a sales pitch. But what I can tell you is...the more chemical, the more mineral oil, the more petroleum in your product, the less likely the success of your self tanning. Thanks for visiting, if you have questions , just message me. I love to help. Here's to your beauty! love ya! Changing lives one lipstick at a timePosted Apr-26-07 14:25:34 PDT HOy!
