Guten abend! What we did for a small portion of our day today

Today we went to a small local Oktoberfest (in June). We were only able to stay for a little over an hour as Donnie was not in the best of moods and the rain was heavy. We did get some delicious bratwurst with sauerkraut (I usually hate sauerkraut but this was really good), potato salad and potato pancakes with apple sauce. We also brought home a variety of desserts which I have been indulging in all day. They are almost gone now as I am not along in visiting that tempting Styrofoam box in the fridge.

Despite the short visit, it was a nice time. Here are the few pictures I got, including some unhappy nuns at the end of our picnic table. As usual, none of me with the baby as I am 99.9% of the time the photographer.

good morning - post & run!

I slept poorly and it is all veruka's fault...I couldnt close my eyes for fear of the animals and their insatiable appetites. She knows what this about!!

j/k slept well enough, been spoiled the last few weekends, hubby's shift started in the afternoons and he would get Donnie when he woke up but he is on what they call "the list" now and he gets called for all random times. Today was early a.m. so Donnie was up way early which means so was I. Right now he is eating his pancakes so I decided to dash on and say good morning!

have a great weekend, I will be like most windshield wipers and appearing intermittently.

this has been a good day for so many bloggers but now I must go to sleep!

what a great day, Kook formerly came back as kookie as ever!! that really made my day, thanks for coming back, Sweet Kook, you were sorely missed.

and Sheila's (coelman) grandsons are doing better every day.

and Twit's kittens surgery was successful.

I am sure there were more good news on the blogs but I was hopping in and out so did not see it all. Please share, I wont see till tomorrow but I do like to hear good news and I am sure others would love to share in your joy as well.

have a good night all, sleep well :)

Coro Bracelet * Lucite Owl * WS George cup & Saucer * Only 2 Missouri Pacific RR calendars left * Plus much more!

Hope you all had a lovely day.

Supposed to be miserably hot, humid and stormy here the next 2 days. That's okay, it is summer after all. And I am in AC 99% of the day so my asthma should be okay.

Donnie is asleep already and Don (daddy) is whining at ESPN as the Knicks are not making the picks he thinks they should have and the player he wanted for his team was taken by another...

I serve you some evening spam! Costume jewelry in the USA ships free (check our store for more, these 2 here are auction items), most 1 lb or less Priority ships for $3.50 in the USA and we ALWAYS combine shipping.

4 day work week - finally asked!

Well, I had the talk with my boss about taking the 20% paycut from my salary and working M-TH. Told her why. She seemed relieved as I think she thought I was going to give my notice.

She told two friends and so on and so on and so on…

No wait, that is not what happened!

She said she needed to talk with her boss who in turn would need to talk with his boss.

Her boss is out till next week.

His boss is out till mid-July.

So IF they say yes, soonest would be August for Fridays off.

I am hoping that my boss’s boss calls or e-mails his boss before then and I can have some Fridays off in July.

I used to have a 12 handicap

when I played a lot of golf, I just do not have the time now and my game has gone. I only started playing in my mid-twenties. I first learned the fundamentals and etiquette of the game.

I would go to the driving range a lot and I would sit for quite awhile and watch the best golfers. They were the consistent ones with such a graceful swing.

I played with people better than me and listened to their advice and tried their suggestions. Some worked for me, others did not but I still listened as they had been at the game much longer than me and had very low handicaps.

Learning the fundementals, patience, practice, listening and learning.

I applied much of this to my ebay business. First, I learned the fundamentals. I bought a variety of items and found many things I liked and didn't like in regards to how I was treated as a customer, how was my item packaged, etc.

I slowly entered the selling arena and noticed one Powerseller in particular as they bought something from me in a BIN.

I am curious by nature and like to see what other items people have bought. I learned from this particular "buyer" that they often sold for quite a profit items which were recently purchased from other sellers. I would never be undersold again as I learned much by this seller. I even was able to employ this sellers tactics, except I got a buyer ID for these sorts of transactions, something which this seller should do as well and still has not.

My keywords are much more powerful, my descriptions as accurate as possible and I try and take a lot of pictures.

I go to the boards and read postings from both buyers and sellers.

I have read several books and articles on selling.

I also read a lot on collectibles, pottery etc and will pick dealers brains at antique shows and stores.

I know what I need to be a Powerseller again is to list more, I am so close every month to getting it back but with work and the baby and the long commute, it is difficult to do so. I need some downtime as well.

When I do look at my % of # of listings sold and my profit after my fees, I am happy with the results. I can do better, but I honestly can say, considering all that is on my plate, it may be best for now not to push that envelope.

I know I segwayed from my main topic but it's my bloggy and I'll ramble if I want to, ramble if I want to. You would ramble too if it happened to you (forst blogger to get that reference gets an atta girl or boy).

Well, at least I am sated for now

but a pear is just not the same!

I really wanted something like a soft brownie or a warm cinnamon roll with streusel icing.

I love that part in Bruce Almighty when he says yes to all the e-mail prayers and at the dinner party a man says to a lady, "Did you lose weight" and she replies something like, "Yes, I did, I lost 47 lbs on the Krispy Kreme diet."

If only that were true!!

2 new bloggers from the UK on page 1

swing by and say hello if you get a chance, thanks!

wasted days in the office

wish I could bring my stuff to list into my office and work on them here.

my job is feast or famine...I am either extremely busy or getting in trouble on the blogs ;)

I just keep thinking whenever it is like this how much I could be getting done at home.

less then 20 minutes to go!!

I am still hesitant about doing the paycut and having Friday's off. Only 2 reasons why I wouldnt, money and how crazy my Monday's will be...

If I do it, I won't ask till 7/7 cause get a holiday on 7/4 and those stinkers might say if I ask now, okay, effective RIGHT away so we dont have to pay you for a day everyone else is off as well.

So cool!!

Wish I had my camera. I am at work in Manhattan, 20 floors up and the sky was blue and it is now very gray and ominous.

The lighnting on the skyline is amazing! And now we have thunder, not so impressed with that, loud booming noises in NYC make me jump, especially with the echo of all the buildings.

if someone has comments hidden

do you stop commenting on their postings?

I know I do cause I am hoping for some conversation or to see others point of views.

just a little survey. not intending to offend those who do hide their comments!

mynetoo aka Alf I have a problem with you!

What are your plans for the 4th of July?

We are off, thank goodness, so I am thinking Donnie and I will surprise my mother and sister etc with a visit.

I will begin panhandling daily at lunch hour so I can afford the gas to go.
