Most Recent Posts Oh, My Stars!Posted May-18-08 22:20:27 PDT Ebay times, they are a-changin'! Last fall, eBay introduced the star ratings, and just as we were getting accustomed to those, they announced feedback changes.! Tomorrow, or actually, today by now, eBay rolls out major changes to the feedback system. The biggest change is that sellers will no longer be able to leave buyers negative or neutral feedback. The boards are buzzing with chat about these changes. Maybe buyers are waiting to leave less than positive feedback! Maybe we'll all have scads of negs when we wake up in the morning. Maybe the world as we know it has gone off course. Is the sky falling? I don't know. I doubt it. My first few years in business, I left feedback immediately after shipping. After a while, I started waiting until buyers had first left me feedback, but after eBay announced the changes in February, I started leaving positive feedback immediately after printing postage. How that workin'? So far; so good. The truth is that I bend over backward to err on the side of caution with description, to communicate well, to ship quickly and to charge reasonable shipping prices. I've rarely left a neg, and I don't remember ever having left a neutral. I hope that my merchandise, my agreeable nature and my customer service will stand on its own merit and that I'll continue to earn positive feedback and high star ratings. I hope that if for any reason I have not done that, my buyers will always know that I'm just an email or phone call away and am happy to work with them to resolve any issues that may come up in the course of our transaction. Until next time, Pam
Whoa! It's been a while!Posted May-13-08 23:51:48 PDT I could try to justify the length between blog posts by telling you I've been busy. It's true. I have. In June 2007, my husband, dk, retired. Having a full time husband is different. Interesting. Frankly, I dreaded it. After nearly 9 years of having the house all to myself, I didn't relish the idea of sharing my space, but it's been fine. He's helped me get organized, which is good. On the other hand, I'm still getting used to asking permission to stop at Sonic after 34 years of driving myself and stopping for a Coke anytime I pleased. But if that's my biggest complaint, and it is, I count myself fortunate. I promise to do a better job of updating this blog, if only for my own amazement. First of all,Posted Oct-25-06 09:29:28 PDT Updated Oct-25-06 09:30:28 PDT I thought I'd share the orgins of my eBay store name. When my youngest son was a little boy, he loved to play store. His brothers were eight and six when he was born. He sort've ramrodded them around, and they indulged him. We all did. I've said he's a child that definitely had his own village. Anyhoo. He loved to play store. Some days, he'd gather all the canned goods from the kitchen and open a grocery store. He'd make me buy whatever I needed for dinner or sell his brothers snacks. He'd call his store The Kissy Pop Grocery. Other days, he'd round up all our shoes and sell them back to us from--you guessed it--The Kissy Pop Shoe Shop.. Sometimes he'd sell records (this was the eighties!) from The Kissy Pop Record Shop. Or video games from The Kissy Pop Video Game Shop. I've wanted to open an antique store for years, and I always thought I'd borrow my son's store name if I ever did. My antique store is just a dream, but I've been an eBay merchant for six years now. I'm still selling under my original eBay id, 'cab4dk' (see my ME page for an explanation of that name!), and I'm reluctant to change that, as so many of my customers know me by that, but when I opened the store, Kissy Pop Cottage was my first and only choice. It honors my son's childhood store name, and it reflects my own cottagey tastes. Please check back often. As a writer, I'm loving the idea of an eBay blog. |
