First of all,Posted Oct-25-06 09:29:28 PDT Updated Oct-25-06 09:30:28 PDT I thought I'd share the orgins of my eBay store name. When my youngest son was a little boy, he loved to play store. His brothers were eight and six when he was born. He sort've ramrodded them around, and they indulged him. We all did. I've said he's a child that definitely had his own village. Anyhoo. He loved to play store. Some days, he'd gather all the canned goods from the kitchen and open a grocery store. He'd make me buy whatever I needed for dinner or sell his brothers snacks. He'd call his store The Kissy Pop Grocery. Other days, he'd round up all our shoes and sell them back to us from--you guessed it--The Kissy Pop Shoe Shop.. Sometimes he'd sell records (this was the eighties!) from The Kissy Pop Record Shop. Or video games from The Kissy Pop Video Game Shop. I've wanted to open an antique store for years, and I always thought I'd borrow my son's store name if I ever did. My antique store is just a dream, but I've been an eBay merchant for six years now. I'm still selling under my original eBay id, 'cab4dk' (see my ME page for an explanation of that name!), and I'm reluctant to change that, as so many of my customers know me by that, but when I opened the store, Kissy Pop Cottage was my first and only choice. It honors my son's childhood store name, and it reflects my own cottagey tastes. Please check back often. As a writer, I'm loving the idea of an eBay blog. |
