Most Recent Posts ebay fees are killing mePosted Jan-28-08 17:41:45 PST i
just cant believe that posting 30 items would cost so much and when we
get the bill after all is said and done, they get posting fees and
final value fees and its always raising every year. sometimes after
auction ends, and after ebay fees, it ends up resulting in items i
simply just gave them away and bought a week of posting privilege and
waisted time that i have to pay for. i sold a book for $45.00 and when
i got the bill, i basically just gave the book out and in the end i
made little money on it, but no profit because ebay has it rigged so
that we make what they leave us. selling baseball cards on ebay is a
crazy job. there is a lot of profit to be made, but if i sell a card
that books at $2.00 1. we all know that it costs $ to post, B. most
buyers are cheapos so if it sells at .99 cents, .20 cents go to
posting, 35 cents go for a gallery image, final value fee about 10 to
15 cents, bubble mailer $1.25 cents each. that means a range of .25
cents profit. no ebayer will spend more than the cards worth in
shipping so if the card is at $2.00 shipping is near $1.00 or more, i
just gave an item out for free and then paid for for the privilege of
being part of the ebay community. thats just a low priced item a little
larger than a business card. i sell high end cards that can range from
$50.00 to $1000.00, but the problem is still there. its just diferent.
if i sell a card for $300.00 bucks, i need a gallery, a sub title often
times a 2nd image of the back of the card(or more than one card) or
catch a buyers eye with bold and or borders and a buy now price for
$300.00 bucks or a starting bid for $125.00. now we all know that if we
have an item worth $300.00 and we send it to auction starting bid at
.99 cents, ebayers are cheap and always looking for the steel deal, low
balling me with emails saying " i know you have this item at buy now for $300.00 and i was wondering if you will take $75.00 for it and i'll pay with paypal. let me know, thanks in advanced. " sellers must not become desperate and sell high priced items lower than dirt cheap because between desperate sellers, ebays fees and cheap ass buyers, ebay becomes a yard sale or a donation center that we pay for and the results are a wast of time effort and money. ebay was awesome before they raised there prices and final value fees. now ebay sucks. it might as well be called "check your attics and closets so you can pay us to take your profit and you still have to list, pack, drive and ship it " this is why ebay will give us there so called deals with .10 cent insertion fees for 2 days or free insertion if we used a gallery image. ebay is making 70 % of all my profit and they get about $100.00 per bill from me !!! it was 6 cents to post when i started this, with all of ebays fees, sometimes we end up selling for free. its like we are a horse and ebay is sit'n on our backPosted Jan-28-08 16:27:00 PST i just cant believe that posting 30 items would cost so much and when we get the bill after all is said and done, they get posting fees and final value fees and its always raising every year. sometimes after auction ends, and after ebay fees, it ends up resulting in items i simply just gave them away and bought a week of posting privilege and waisted time that i have to pay for. i sold a book for $45.00 and when i got the bill, i basically just gave the book out and in the end i made little money on it, but no profit because ebay has it rigged so that we make what they leave us. selling baseball cards on ebay is a crazy job. there is a lot of profit to be made, but if i sell a card that books at $2.00 1. we all know that it costs $ to post, B. most buyers are cheapos so if it sells at .99 cents, .20 cents go to posting, 35 cents go for a gallery image, final value fee about 10 to 15 cents, bubble mailer $1.25 cents each. that means a range of .25 cents profit. no ebayer will spend more than the cards worth in shipping so if the card is at $2.00 shipping is near $1.00 or more, i just gave an item out for free and then paid for for the privilege of being part of the ebay community. thats just a low priced item a little larger than a business card. i sell high end cards that can range from $50.00 to $1000.00, but the problem is still there. its just diferent. if i sell a card for $300.00 bucks, i need a gallery, a sub title often times a 2nd image of the back of the card(or more than one card) or catch a buyers eye with bold and or borders and a buy now price for $300.00 bucks or a starting bid for $125.00. now we all know that if we have an item worth $300.00 and we send it to auction starting bid at .99 cents, ebayers are cheap and always looking for the steel deal, low balling me with emails saying " i know you have this item at buy now for $300.00 and i was wondering if you will take $75.00 for it and i'll pay with paypal. let me know, thanks in advanced.
