How can you tell if your dog is diabetic??

Dogs with diabetes usually drink more water, go to the bathroom more frequently (may start to urinate in the house), and can begin to lose weight.

What can you do. See a vet immediately. There is no cure to diabeties.

But there is always insulin. Yes dogs can get shots of insulin just like us humans. You can monitor it easy, they have urinating test strips, not the best, and they have blood test monitors. You can't use a human one, since dogs blood is different. But they have several meters available. One is called GlucoPet and the other is AlphaTrack. The blood test is more acurate.

I know my Furbaby is worth the little effort it takes to make her happy and healthy. Is yours??

Yes you can help control it with diet and exercise to an extent. Dogs that are overweight and if they had been abused prior to you adopting them could contribute to your dog being diabetic.

My pet had been abused. She had been starved, beaten, abused. When i fist got her she was several weeks pregnant, though i didn't know it at first. She was skin and bones. We fed her like we feed my other dogs. She gained weight rapidly (possibly to rapid). But she got bigger and bigger until she looked like she was going to pop. And then she did. She had 5 lovely puppies. The 1st was still born :(  

My Furbaby Drew is a diabetic. She suffered so much before we rescued her from her abusers. But she is not suffering. We keep her diabeties under control, and she is healthy and happy.
