Why Italian Postcards?

Italy holds a fascination for me.  I travel there, especially to Tuscany, about once a year.  Next trip is scheduled for October 2006, keeping fingers crossed!

Looking through vintage and antique Italian postcards is a way of traveling through time and space when the money is a little tighter than the travel budget allows.

Italian postcards historically have been high quality, and there are some fine artisanal publishers throughout Italy, like Nanni Gadenz, Foto Ghedina, and Chiavari Civicchioni.  I especially like real photograph post cards (vera fotographia) from the period 1900-1960 in black and white.
