I love Kayla's eyes - they're so golden and beautiful. When she was a kitten, she had a very hard time and was very sick, but now she is a full grown, lovely kitty. It was so funny this evening - I heard my coat rustling on the chair where I had left it to dry from the snow this morning, and I couldn't figure out what it was. Then my kitty, Carma's tail came out from under the sleeve and was waving to and fro. That was all you could see of Carma, except for a lump in my coat. I wish I'd had my camera handy! That reminds me of one time I came into the bedroom and Carma was sleeping in her round kitty bed and I was saying hello to her when all of a sudden a lump in the bed started to move and come toward me! Vic is such a beautiful tuxedo cat! I love the idea of whisking everyone away for an awesome vacation at the last minute! I don't know anyone who does that, do you? But I know cats love to be wherever it's warm, and I can just picture Vic lounging on the warm cement while everyone else takes a dip in the pool!!!  And to have room service wait on our dear cats hand and foot like we do - that's a definite plus!

I met Buster when I went to take photos of Harmony for a large portrait of Harmony and her rider. It was a beautiful evening in the fall, with the trees all glowing orange and yellow in the evening sun. The weather was very cool and crisp. Buster's feathers were waving in the breeze that evening, and he looked so regal with the setting sun shining on his fur.

There is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that lives across the street from me named Amy Sue. She has red and white fur and is the sweetest dog. She is so shy, she always hides behind her guardian when she sees Jesse, my Aussie, lumbering toward her. She has the softest, silkiest fur!

Purple is my favorite color. I love all the pinks and the purples in this painting. Pooky looks sooo happy that it's Spring Break coming up soon, and so am I! I will be turning off the 6:20 a.m. alarm and taking it easy all week, just like Pooky and Lucy!

I love roses, too. They are so fragrant. My neighbor is an avid gardener and her lovely rose bush creeps through the slats in the fence and into our yard. I enjoy her pink roses immensely. Sometimes I think we have more of her lovely roses than she does!!!

Pashimina lives in Brazil. I think she has the most beautiful eyes. I couldn't resist putting some whimsy into this story of Pashimina and her old friend, Jenny, the frog fairy.

I have a friend that shares as much with me as Pashimina and Jenny. Before my dear friend and I found our wonderful husbands, we used to do *everything* together! She and I used to spend time spinning and knitting the most wonderful designer sweaters and socks. We spun the angora from the rabbits I was raising. She currently lives on a sheep farm and has more than 50 head of sheep. We had so much in common years ago - and still do!

I couldn't imagine life without the love and support of my dear friends and family!!!

West Highland Terriers are very fun to paint - with their fur that goes every which way and catches all kinds of relfected colors. I like to add a lot of color to their paintings, because I think it adds a lot of character - just like their breed.

I love the highlights on the waxed fruit in this painting. I can just imagine adorable Yoshi taking a breather from a very busy day. Westies are very alert and must investigate everything in their domain.

Sammy lives in Texas with several other cats who also have been featured in some of my paintings. I just love the warm colors of orange, red, peach and yellow that are the dominant colors in this painting. The splashes of light aqua and purple add balance to the color scheme. The light shadows from the slats of the blinds create an interesting pattern as they fall upon the cat, the vase and the adjacent wall.

I think all cats love to sit by the windows, mine included. My favorite photos to use as reference photos for paintings are cats sitting by windows. I could paint those types of paintings all day! There's something so serene and intriguing about the subject matter.

When I saw Winston's photo, I just KNEW I *had* to bring his little pug face to life on canvas! I've been wanting to paint a pug for quite awhile now, and all of my Christmas portrait orders were for cats and other dog breeds, so I was quite happy when I decided to add a pug to my 5x7 collection.

I'm really enjoying the 5x7 size. I can put away my magnifying glass, and still provide an ACEO print for all you ACEO collectors. I think this size is perfect for a little nook or cranny that needs a cheery painting to liven up the space.

I had such fun at a pug breeder's house a few years ago. There were pugs *everywhere*, and her house was decorated with every pug paraphernalia imaginable. I knew I was at the right house when I pulled up her driveway and there was a sign that said "Pug Crossing." ;-)

Dash and Chase are very active Westies! I help babysit my friend's Westie, Gracie, now and then and she is such a LOVE! I've always lived with very large dogs, and it's such a pleasure to be with a little dog that can jump into your lap! Gracie loves to play with her "squeegee" toy that makes a squeak as she races around the rug trying to catch it when someone is playing with her.

Now that the weather is improving, the ice cream trucks are getting ready to make their rounds. I could just picture Dash and Chase asking to go outside for their treat, so I included the ice cream truck in the painting.

I'd also like to paint more of the other breeds of dogs, too, along with the fabulous array of cats and their antics!
