A bit of nostalgia - who remembers turning decimal?Posted Aug-19-07 06:31:49 PDT It's time to show your age! LOL C'mon - hands up if you remember .... - the black and blue Imperial/Decimal conversion charts on the back wall of every shop - The WoodenTops and Andy Pandy (Watch with Mother) - Cresta (soft drink in a can) - tasted AWFUL and left a yukky feeling on the roof of your mouth - advertised by a polar bear. - Foxes Glacier Mints - advertised by a different, cooler polar bear who wore sunglasses! - Spangles - The Bay City Rollers; and asking your mum to stitch a strip of tartan down each leg of your trousers! - Feather Cut hairstyles - space hoppers - huge loops of elastic bands stretched between the ankles of two girls whilst a 3rd jumped in the middle (2, 4, 6, 8, Mary's at the garden gate) - buying 2oz of sweets from the corner shop - "Flyer" red rollerskates which strapped onto your Clarkes shoes. They were adjustable via a wingnut underneath and ALWAYS fell off! - Charlie the cat telling you to never talk to strangers
