Cyber Monday...

Well, Cyber Monday is here!  Ebay is doing swimmingly.  I have to say that I am really thankful my customers are noticing how well I package their products.  It's something that I take great pride in.  That and postage are the biggest reasons for my shipping and handling costs because I have to purchase everything for shipping and I don't use it sparingly!  I can't stand it when I personally receive an item from someone and it's been barely packed!  I've been lucky that nothing has gotten hurt, but it almost feels like that personal touch hasn't even been given, know what I mean?  I take great pride in putting those special touches on my packages and making sure they get to their new homes safe and sound.  I feel that way about all my products and want to service my customers the way I want to be serviced.  It's the customer service rep. in me that I used to be!  I'm glad customers are noticing:)  I like to go above and beyond for them.  After all, it is a reflection of me.  Happy Holidays everyone!

Let the holidays begin!

I'm pretty excited about my first couple of weeks here at Ebay again. So far (knock on wood) everything has been going swimmingly!  I did some research on Christmas items right now, especially ornaments and buyers are gobbling them up!  I have a huge lot of Campbells Soup ornaments that will be going up hopefully tomorrow or next week.  I try to make my auctions go off on Fri. nights, Sat. Sun. days or Wed. nights.  So it will be going up sometime between Sunday and Wednesday.  This is a huge deal and I know someone is going to enjoy these for Christmas.  I also have some good gift ideas coming out.  I have an Ipod (or any mp3 player) pillow(s) of two monkey stuffed animals with speakers in them coming out and I'm sure someone will love getting that for their child or teen this Christmas.  Teens are especially hard to buy for, and since they're monkeys they're unisex so that's pretty useful.  I have some other items coming out like a box of fundraiser bracelets left over from a fundraiser I did with my company for Hurricane Katrina.  Luckily the bracelets do not specify a particular engagement that they're supporting so they can be purchased for any fundraiser.  There are over 200 of them, and they're half solid blue and half blue and white with the words: Courage Faith Strength and Hope all seperated by small typical ribbon symbols for fundraising.  The symbol that kind of looks like a rope lasso only vertical.  I hope that explains it well.  Soon enough you'll be able to see what they look like.  I've described them in a video too, so you'll be able to see the whole lot together.  I just looked again and the lot is 277.  They're perfect for a charity fundraiser, school, even a child's tuition or an occasion.  I was accepted for an ambassadorship out of the country recently but the tuition was over $5,000.  If I wanted to participate (which this year I cannot due to other obligations) these bracelets could easily have come in handy.  I really hope someone else can get some great use out of them.  I'd love to hear from the buyer even, if they should keep in touch and let me know what they went towards.  Fundraising is an incredibly rewarding (and sometimes frustrating) endeavor especially when it's over:)  I was able to raise over $150,000 using these bracelets and a company $1.50 match for every $1.00 raised.  I sold them for jeans days at work.  For $35.00 employees were able to wear jeans every day for a year and received a bracelet to show that they paid for the opportunity.  Managers were required to pay more at $50.00 and Corporate aisle (big-wigs) had to pay $100.00 and no one complained.  It was incredible.  Anyhow, I've written enough for this evening.  Good night Ebay!  Here comes the holidays:)

I Heart Ebay

I'm having so much fun with Ebay this week.  I've been researching the products I'm selling beforehand, and every time it helps me so much more than if I had done so without.  When I sold things in the past, I didn't take the time to do that.  This year, I spent a couple days researching Tips and Tricks on how to sell better on Ebay, what customers like/don't like, when to sell, what to sell, and how and I have to say, a little bit of research goes a long way.  So far I've been meeting some great people on here and I'm loving making these little movies of the products.  It seems as though others are enjoying them too and that's awesome:)  Happy Halloween Ebay!

Creative Ideas

I'm pretty excited about the idea of posting a movie on my items up for auction.  I got the idea yesterday when I was thinking of a way to usefully describe what the product is for a customer.  The idea of the videos are to help the buyer's "shop" and hold and turn the objects as if they would in a shop.  Even if a buyer doesn't buy the item, they leave the page with a bit of an education about it.  I want my customers to know each and every detail about a product before they purchase it so that they have faith in me and my sales.  I hope that people find this useful and am eager to receive any feedback on them.  If you have watched these videos and found them useful (whether you buy the product or not) please leave a comment or drop me a line to let me know.  I'm anxious to hear!  Thanks so much! :)

I'm almost ready!

After organizing my first batch to go on auction this weekend, I found a little program called Turbo Lister that has been helping me organize my auctions even better for my customers! It's really exciting to get everything ready and organized ahead of time and when the time comes to post them, they all go out at once!  Now that's what I call smart timing!  I'm really excited to get started on these auctions and I look forward to meeting new people here on Ebay.  I've found some really great people on here; Ebay sellers and buyers that I've worked with previously are the most professional of all the auctioning sites out there.  Every once in a while you know we all get some *interesting* queries, but hey, you have to take it with a grain of salt;)  I have some neat things like trading cards, collectibles, and women's shoes going up later on tonight.  I also want to post books as I have about 2,000 of them right now and am definitely not reading them all!  That's a project in itself.  I'm also going to be posting comic books soon from my husband's collection.  We just finished organizing his first box last night including the Flash, Superman, Batman, Superboy, Supergirl, and so many more.  It's amazing how many he has!  I'm looking forward to auctioning those off as well.  Stay tuned for more great products and auctions!  Have a great weekend:)
