Most Recent Posts Sarah Palin to be on SNL ...Posted Sep-05-08 08:45:42 PDT Our local radio guy Bob Lester from KWHL went to the RNC to cover some events for us Alaskans - Meredith Viera interviewed him for the Today Show, How Cool is that! He is back home now this morning, telling Alaska all about it on his morning radio show, and he announced that Sarah Palin will be on Saturday Night Live, on Sept 13th with Michael Phelps and Tina Fey! "Seller Experience" ??Posted Jul-12-08 02:12:17 PDT This is the end section of an announcement for 7/11/08: The other requirements I mentioned in my previous announcement will still be coming in the fall. This includes the removal of email addresses from listing descriptions, and the requirement of a return policy and your handling time. Sincerely, Dinesh Lathi ************************************************** WOW - so now we will be REQUIRED to allow Returns when we sell?? And they are going to dictate our Handling Time? I mean, I always mailed the next business day after I received payment, but I dont have a 'job' so its not a burden for me.. But this Required Return Policy thing - most of what I sell is cosmetics - which traditionally are non-returnable due to health and safety concerns.. This guy works for the "Seller Experience" ?? What ?? Seeing more n more reasons NOT to sell here any more.. Discourse on "the LV Law Suit.."Posted Jul-04-08 14:43:53 PDT So by now we've all heard about the judgements against eBay over the LV branding.. its quite a fine.. and now the liability can only grow as they vow to appeal it... The lawyers will be the only real winners here. eBay vows to fight it. On whose nickel I wonder? Are they vowing to be altruistic and fight it on principle 'for the consumer' who feels they deserve a LV bag for less than Retail? Why should eBay care? I mean, when you get down to it, this has to be about Price Point.. LV wants a certain PRICE for their items.. so they limit the WHERE people can buy them.. thus guaranteeing Authenticity and also stabilizing price.. preserving the Image they want for LV... When the legal fees pile up on top of the fines, will eBay just pay it and write it off? My guess is, since they are fighting "for the sellers" - the cost will be passed onto us, the sellers.. Is it THAT important? Do you want your fees to go Up simply so you might win the right to sell LV bags at less than retail to customers who would threaten you with negative FB just so they can get the item even cheaper than they won it for? I'm not necessarily taking any sides here, but any Intelligent respectful and courteous ideas and thoughts are welcome here! Today in the New York Times... Louis Vuitton got 'em LOL I wonder if they will raise Our fees to cover their inability (or unwillingness) to crack down on the Chinese merchandise they invited into the Marketplace in the 1st place..?? Anyone notice the Buy It Now boards lately?Posted Jun-18-08 08:27:53 PDT ..At least the Health n Beauty anyways.. They can be frustrating to read, a waste of time mostly, because its primarily people asking for things that are already ON eBay - but they just want someone to mail it to them for free.. But I still look, hoping to find the few appreciative buyers who really are looking for something they cant find ~ Here lately, it looks like there have been no new posts since about June 9th.. and today is the 18th! And the most current posts are all mixed up in no particular date order.. weird. It was always frustrating to spend my time in there, browsing to see what buyers might be looking for ~ but here lately ~ Don't do it! Its 10 minutes of your life that you cannot get back!! Sellers of Cosmetic & Makeup items...Posted Jun-10-08 16:09:49 PDT I'm mostly a seller here, but lately I've had a little extra money to spend, so I've been doing a lil eBay shopping, to contribute to the economy, so to speak.. I think most sellers realize that some items are more delicate than others.. while mascaras require minimal care in packaging, there are other items that can suffer damage in transit when they're not packaged properly.. this can be especially True when mailing more than One item in the same package.. Items like Eye Shadow and Blusher compacts can clang into each other in shipment when they are only wrapped in a single thin sheet of tissue paper.. the hard plastic compact cases they come in can do quite a bit of damage to the product.. and a buyer who buys (2) blushes expects them to both be in new condition, Not cracked to the point that the product is actually escaping the compact because its crumbled to pieces.. Even if your auction might not fetch you as high a bid as you hoped, you should still treat that customer's purchase with care. Maybe the item didnt get fought over as much as you wanted, but this person DID bid, and won the item on your terms.. if their item came in good condition, they might come back for another Buy.. When the item shows up destroyed, you can be sure they wont. OK Im totally confused now!!Posted Jun-06-08 00:08:51 PDT Last FB I rec'd was on June 3rd.. That made my total number to 239.. and there I sat.. and it was 239 earlier today when I logged in and Left FB to a seller when I received an item in the mail today.. Soo I log in tonight, I've not rec'd any more FB since that same one on the 3rd, yet my number now this evening is 240! What happened?? Bobbi Brown fans...Posted May-31-08 12:18:00 PDT Do a search for 'Bobbi Brown palette' - have a look and tell me what you think.. A seller has listed several palettes which I cannot identify. The seller USED to be from France, then suddenly came up with a new user ID and now are registered in HongKong.. HMMM Bobbi is always known for the wonderful quality tools that she includes in her palettes.. makes me think these are not real Bobbi.. I might be wrong - Im not any expert, but still.. what do you think? A way to fix the Feedback dilemma -Posted May-27-08 10:52:56 PDT Of course eBay does not want our unsolicited opinions or ideas, but it would make more sense If - They make FB Mandatory.. Then when a party leaves FB, it remains Hidden until the other half leaves their FB too.. when both Buyer and Seller have left it, then they both become Visible. Thus - no way to Retaliate either way.. So, lets say someone feels they wont get Good FB, so in order for it to not be viewed, they just dont leave any... Once someone is behind in leaving FB, they are not allowed to BUY or SELL any more items until they catch up.. Meaning, if I as a seller have received 5 FB's from my buyers, and I have not left FB to those 5 shoppers, My selling or Listing privileges are put on hold until I catch up. This could be determined based on how many items I sell in a typical day. So PowerSellers who might sell 50 items a day would be allowed more wiggle room than someone like me who was only listing maybe 10 items in any given week. This would totally solve the problem on both sides. But, alas, it won't happen because it makes too much SENSE! |
