Most Recent Posts Survivor: The Laundry RoomPosted Apr-25-08 04:21:32 PDT Everyone always makes a big deal about things like shirts and pants and shorts and skirts. Why don't we laud the lowly sock? I mean, look at what it takes to have a clean pair of socks each morning! I don't know about you, but I have dirty socks multiplying in every corner of the house. Even in corners that have been mopped and swiffered, inside of a day I'll find another dirty sock. After the dirty socks are rounded up, I think aliens beam samples up for analysis. That's the only thing I can figure out. I mean, that load of whites... or dingy grays that overdose on bleach and go white belly up... is full of socks when the cycle starts. Somewhere between the sorting bin and the folding table the pairs have a nasty separation. It's so bad, one of them kidnaps the children. By the time the socks get matched up and folded - you guessed it - missing socks. Weird. It's not over yet. The intact families of socks that have made it through the laundry hamper, into the bleach, through the dryer and reunited in the laundry basket disappear. The ferrets blame it on the dogs, and the dogs blame it on the kids. Those guys wonder why I'm worried about disappearing clean socks when it's the dirty ones I yelled about just 10 minutes ago. Once all that is done, what do we do? Open the drawer, pull out a sock, find a hole in the toe, and throw it away. Poor socks. Next time you see socks for sale on eBay, throw in a sympathy bid. Those guys have been through a lot. Still reading? In that case, throw in a sympathy bid on my auctions, too. Day OnePosted Apr-24-08 10:43:04 PDT Updated Apr-24-08 10:44:57 PDT Deep Breath. Whew. I did it. I finally listed something on ebay. I'm not expecting to get rich, but I do hope I can get something back for all the stuff we have. Actually, Day One is not the truth. I created this account over a week ago, but I wasn't ready to go live. It's taken me a week to get my paypal account up and running and to get items together to photograph and post. So here's the plan - every day I want to post something for sale. My main priority is getting stuff out of the house and on to another kid who can use it. I'd donate it, but milk is $6.00 a gallon! Flour has doubled in price in the last year, and eggs are getting outrageous.
