The Dwarf Palmetto (Sabal minor) is native to the southeaster United States. It is one of the most frost tolerent palms, often surviving temperatures as low as 0°F. The Dwarf Palmetto grows up to 3ft (rarely 6ft) in height, with a trunk up to 12" diameter. It is a fan palm (Arecaceae tribe Corypheae), with the leaves forming a rounded fan of numerous leaflets. ![]() The Cattails: (typha) are wetland plants, with spongy, strap-like leaves and starchy, creeping stems. They spread horizontally beneath the surface of muddy ground to start new
