Pens and Pencils

Have been turning some pens over the winter, and decided to see if they'd sell online (as I probably won't manage to do any craft fairs this year). It's bit of wrench selling some of my favourites, but it will allow me to buy more materials and keep making them - that's the idea anyway.

It's great fun turning, but also choosing the wood, getting the blanks ready, indulging myself with the design, matching up the metal bits, and deciding on the kind of finish I want, and which best suits the wood. And I've learnt a great deal and got good results with some quite tricky woods too.

I've tried polymer clay (various types of Fimo and Sculpey) and acrylic blanks but nothing beats wood. My favourites are oak and elm, and interesting burred and spalted woods.
