Reflections

Christians coming together. Very cool.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my initial blog.  It is wonderful to know that there are so many other Christians out there.

In my response,  I made mention of a book I was reading.  Here is an excerpt:

The first step to living at your full potential is to enlarge your vision to live your best life now, you must start looking at life through eyes of faith, seeing yourself rising to new levels.  See your business taking off.  See your marriage restored.  See your family prospering.  See your dreams coming to pass.  You must conceive it and believe it is possible, if you ever hope to experience it.
To conceive it, you must have an image on the inside of the life you want to live on the outside.  This image has to become a part of you, in your thoughts, your conversation, deep down in your subconscious mind, in your actions, in every part of your being.

What you keep before your eyes will affect you.  You will produce what you're continually saying in your mind.  If you foster an image of defeat in failure, then you're going to live that kind of life.  But if you develop an image of victory success, health, abundance, joy, peace, and happiness, nothing on earth will be able to hold those things from you.

The Scripture says that God wants to pour out his "far and beyond favor." God wants this to be the best time of your life.  But if you are going to receive his favor.  You must enlarge your vision.  You can't go around thinking negative, defeated, limiting thoughts. To experience this in measurable favor, you must rid yourself of the small minded taking in start expecting God's blessings, start anticipating promotion and supernatural increase.  You must conceive it in your heart and mind before you can receive it.  In other words, you must make room for increased in your own thinking, then God will bring those things to pass.  Until you learn how to enlarge your vision, seen the future through your eyes of faith, your own wrong thinking will prevent good things from happening in your life.  God will not pour fresh, creative ideas and blessings into old attitudes.

Food for thought people today is a new day.  Today is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.

I look forward to hearing from you.

God bless you,

J.

I have my own religion (lutheran) and I'm just not sure if ebay is the place to be witnessing. Religion is a touchy subject and can offed some people. Just my 2 cents.

We're going to find each other anywhere and we love that common bond. It makes us happy. These blogs are filled with all kinds of different subjects often having nothing to do with ebay. It's people finding each other through a common interest. But life will creep into that as well, and we simply like to converse with those of like mind (and possibly buy from and sell to!) The blogs dealing with Christianity that I've seen have stated very clearly what the subject is. I think it's just like anything else. If it interests you, read and respond. If not, move on. There's a blog by a Wiccan witch. That is so far removed from what I believe in, but what right would I have to criticize her? If she finds people who share her interest and what she is selling, mission accomplished.

We, as Christians, can witness anyplace, anytime. That is what we are commanded to do by Jesus. If someone doesn't want to hear it, "turn the dial." We have to listen to all sorts of other religions all the time. This country was founded on freedom OF religion. Not freedom FROM religion. We have had most all forms of Christianity taken away from us in public places. Isn't it ridiculous that a town cannot display a Nativity Scene when that is what Christmas is all about. ACLU is always screaming about separation of church and state. That all started when someone wrote a letter to Thomas Jefferson and asked if any particular denomination would be the State religion. His answer was something to the effect ....I would hope there would always be separation of the Church and the State. Meaning our forefathers had left England to get away from being forced to worship one way and the church could not control the government. As far as the separation of Church and State goes, my question is why is the State always telling the Church what it can and cannot do? I am not a Lutheran, but Martin Luther did a great service to humanity a long time ago and risked his life to do it. <><

Amen.. God is so good..He loves us no matter who we are..God does command us and we try to pray for opportunities to speak out for Him. I had the chance at an estate sale. I had prayed that morning, and lo and behold. the chance came. I had never had the chance in that setting, but I had prayed. I came away from that sale and cried. I knew God had helped me..Sandy
