"You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
John 3:9-12
Nicodemus was a Jewish teacher of the Bible and he knew the Old Testament thoroughly, but he did not understand what it said about the Messiah. Knowledge is not salvation. You should know the Bible, but even more importantly, you should understand the God whom the Bible reveals and the salvation that God offers. It is that revelation knowledge regarding who God is that people are seeking. Your Christian witness is of paramount importance to the lost as you share your testimony with those around you.
