If My people would but listen to Me, if Israel would follow My ways, how quickly I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes!
Psalm 81:11-14
God let the Israelites go on, blindly, stubbornly, and selfishly, when they should have been obeying and pursuing God's desires. In the same way, God lets us continue in our stubbornness to bring us to our senses. He does not keep us from rebelling, because He wants us to learn the consequences of our actions. He uses these experiences to turn us away from greater sin to faith in Him. God has promised through His Son, Jesus, that if we would only believe, we will be more like Him: humble, meek, giving, kind, compassionate, with courage and strength. If we would but acknowledge Him and believe. That is all that it takes. Let go and let God today.
