Praying for GuidancePosted Jul-17-07 07:09:32 PDT Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love, remember me, for you are good, O Lord.
Psalm 25:4-7
David expressed his desire for guidance. How do we really receive God's guidance? The first step is to want to be guided and to realize that God's primary guidance system is in his Word, the Bible. Psalm 119 tells of the endless knowledge found in God's Word. By reading it and constantly learning from it, we will gain the wisdom to perceive God's direction in our lives. We may be tempted to demand answers from God, but David asked for directions. When we are willing to seek God, learn from his Word, and obey his commands, then we will receive specific guidance.
God Bless you,
