Read the Fine PrintPosted Sep-19-07 06:04:05 PDT See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another, daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be heartened by sins deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
Hebrews 3:12-14
Our hearts turn away from the living God when we stubbornly refused to believe Him. If we persist in our unbelief, God will eventually leave us alone in our sin. But God can give us new hearts, new desires, and new spirits. New life can be ours if we simply acknowledge Him. All this just for the asking; it doesn't get any easier than that. To prevent having an unbelieving heart, stay in fellowship with other believers, talk daily about your faith, be aware of the deceitfulness of sin (it attracts, but also destroys; you have to read the fine print), and encourage each other with love and concern. Lift each other up in times of trial, comfort one another. Raise each other up in prayer. Pray without ceasing. God will answer in His perfect time.
