Through Difficult Times

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Psalm 34:17-19

We often wish we could escape troubles - the pain of grief, loss, sorrow, and failure; or even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear us down.  God promises to be "close to the brokenhearted," to be our source of power, courage, and wisdom, helping us through our problems each and everyday.  Sometimes, He chooses to deliver us from those problems, according to His will.  When trouble strikes, do not get frustrated with God.  Instead, admit that you need God's help and thank him for being by your side.  Expect great things from the Almighty God.  He is with you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you.

God bless you,

I've always wanted to know, how do I know if I've been forgiven? Sometimes I just don't "feel" like I am.

Our feelings can be very deceptive and they sometimes do not reveal the truth about our situation. God promises to be close to us in times of trial, yet at those times, it "feels" as if He is a thousand miles away and our prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. But what does the Bible say? The Bible says that He sticks closer to you than a brother. Either the Bible is the true, inerrant Word of God or it isn't. Our feelings do not override the truth of the Bible. We have to face facts and realize that our feelings are deceiving us into believing that God is absent, when all the while He is closeby and remains faithful to our every need. At those times when we "feel" lost and abandoned, we need to come together as brothers and sisters within the church. The church must act as "God with flesh on" because that is what we need. We need to come together. God Bless you and yours. J.H.
