About WebWellnessUS.com: About BlacktalonSolutions: Pizza for Breakfast?Posted Mar-19-08 12:09:02 PDT By The Editor of Self Magazine visit http://www.webwellnessus.com I know what you're thinking: pizza? For breakfast? But the truth is that you can crack open last night's leftovers in the a.m. if you want to. I know lots of women who skip breakfast, and they have a ton of different excuses for doing it. Some say they don't have time, others think they're "saving" calories by eliminating a meal, still others just don't like breakfast food. But the bottom line is, eating in the morning is crucial when you're trying to trim down. "Eating just about anything in the range of 300 to 400 calories would be better than nothing at all," says SELF contributor Katherine Brooking, R.D., who developed the super-easy eating plan for this year's SELF Challenge. And even pizza can be healthy if it's thin-crust, loaded with veggies, and you stick to one slice. Research shows that eating breakfast revs up your metabolism, keeps you from overeating later in the day and may even help sleekify your abs. Researchers at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles found that breakfast skippers have bigger tummies than those who regularly have a morning meal. Bonus: I find if I tell myself, "You can always eat it tomorrow," I put away the leftovers instead of eating more that night. Try it...you may save yourself some prebedtime calories. And watch your body reap the fat-burning benefits. What are your favorite breakfast foods? New Year's ResolutionsPosted Dec-30-07 19:37:12 PST With the New Year finally here, many people will make resolutions to start off 2008. What are your resolutions? How do you plan on working towards and achieving them? Are they the same resolutions from last year? The year before that?
Many people make ambitious new years resolutions without following through. I have listed 5 success points to help you finally achieve your new years resolutions.
1) Make specific goals. Many people make vague goals such as “I want to get in shape” or “I want to eat healthier.” These are great goals, but they are not specific. What are you going to do to get there? If you want to get in better shape outline yourself a workout program that you can realistically follow through with with. Set yourself up for success!
2) Take baby steps. If you want to lose weight or get in better shape at the gym don’t tell yourself you will go 7 days a week for two hours a day. You will likely burn out and not go at all. Work your way up by starting out at the gym 2-3 times a week for an hour and increase from there. Continue towards your goals by building up each week and month as you adjust to your new healthier daily routines.
3) Adjust your goals as you go. As time goes on, you may find your new workout program or diet is too strict (or even too lax) or not realistic based on your daily work and family schedule. Things do come up in people’s lives and to succeed you may have to tweak your plan in order to stick to your resolutions. Plan your work and work your plan.
4) Keep your resolutions in front of you. Write your resolutions down and post them where you can see them everyday. Post them on your computer monitor, on your bedroom mirror, in your car, or on your calendar. The more you see your resolutions, the more likely you will be to make them happen.
5) Have fun and celebrate each accomplishment. As you progress towards and reach your goals, give yourself a reward. Treat yourself to something you have been wanting. Something material as it will remind you of your hard work and success! How about a new pair of shoes, a coat, a computer or even better-a new pair of jeans a size smaller than last year?!
Good luck in 2008 and keep us posted on your New Years Resolutions success!
