The full ramifications of our trip hit me square between the eyes when I tried to go out to the utility room to do a load of laundry.  Bolts, chains, deadlocks...the same with every door in the house.  The more I thought about things the more distressed I felt.

Our home address was on many items inside the pickup.  My husband had photos of me and his little girl on the visor, resting on the dash...before I was thrilled to know he carried those with him, now it makes me feel even more vulnerable knowing that my likeness and that of his daughter is in the keeping of somebody who seems to lack any conscience or morals. 

Protector that he is, my husband hadn't left home without proctecting the sanctity of the house and his family.  I know in time these feelings will diminish and the fear and worry will subside.  It's simply awful that anybody should have to feel this way. 

As luck would have it, our insurance company is moving it's offices today and so the telephone services are off.  *really BIG sigh*

Last week I was able to travel with my husband for business.  Fortunately we were able to mix things up a bit and throw in some pleasure as well.  Staying in Moore, Oklahoma we checked out some motorcycle events, hit a number of restaurants we'd been dying to try and rode the motorcycle everywhere we wanted to go that didn't involve work.  I loved every minute of it EXCEPT....our last morning there.

We woke up at 6 a.m. intending to grab breakfast, get some work in and head home that afternoon.  As part of his morning ritual, my husband threw back the curtains to our room and looked down to the parking lot where our vehicles were parked.  That's when everything went downhill.  Where his truck and BRAND NEW cargo trailer should have been was only a lot of empty space.....

Our last day there was spent working with the police department and insurance companies.  My husband was devastated...The tools of his trade were inside that cargo trailer...he'd just paid off his truck.....

Cause baby....look at you now!

The sirens sounded as the tornado touched ground just northwest of the house....thank heavens I didn't realize how close it was or the size of the thing.....this is what it looked like 30 miles further south as my husband nearly drove into it.....He'd just broken through dirt and flying debris that he couldn't see through and managed to get his vehicle off the road in time to take these pictures with his cell phone.

I've always found great comfort in my faith in God.  Somehow he's managed to get me this far through life.  Human as I am though, I will on occasion find my faith faltering. 

Many years ago I started to put all of my thoughts down in an email.  There I could safely unburden myself, giving free rein to all my fears, worries, joys and hopes.  I don't know what it was that inspired me to take the next step.  I imagine it was just a need to feel like those emails were actually going somewhere.  I typed in an email address for God  (one I created just for him) and pressed send. 

Fool!  Fool!  Fool!  I agonized over somebody receiving that mail and thinking I was some kind of freak.  Amazingly, there was never any response to that email.  So I did it again.  And again.  And yet again.  That small act began to bring me great comfort, as if God himself were opening those emails and reading all my deepest thoughts.  To this day I continue to email God.  And I still find comfort in doing so.

Is anybody else this odd? lol.  Occasionally I DO wonder who it is at the other end of that email....

About the birds and the bees.  I grew up in a very old fashioned family, country mostly, where 9 children made privacy a thing unheard of.  My mother was always incredibly busy from the break of day until she could fall into bed at night.  It didn't seem there was ever a still moment in our house.  Animals had to be tended before we dashed off to school and then taken care of again the minute we came home.  The vegetable garden needed weeding, eggs gathering, cooking started.....

Thank heavens for sex education in school or I may never have known what to expect as I was growing up.

Just peeking in to say hello and then dashing off to get packages shipped.  Storming here again today so there's a real chance I won't have power again.  Most of the city of Altus is still without power.  Crews have been working around the clock but it's slow work.

A lilttle bit.  Just in the couple of days I haven't been able to get online and list my ebay listings expired.  Ouch.  This is the longest we've had power and we're blessed to have it since so many are still without.  We've already called everybody we know to extend an invitation to come crash at our house and at least stay cool. 

Now we're just relaxing for a spell and unwinding.  Off to bed shortly to catch some desperately needed zzzzzzzzzzz's but wanted to catch up on everybody else before I head out...just in case there isn't any service again tomorrow.
