Slanderous Feedback

I am so upset about the feedback that was left about the transmission that my brother-in-law bought.  My brother-in-law used my ebay account to purchase a new transmission.  When he received the transmission it was not as was specified in the ad.  He called the man with me standing there.  He had just got off of work and had not been drinking.  After trying to install the transmission ( he has lots of experience working on vehicles so he new what he was doing) it did not work at all.  The man just would not work with us as far as refunding his money and sending the tranny back.  If anyone ever wants to buy an item like that using your account please do not let them.  Now, because of this I have a negative feedback.  I've tried contacting customer service about this but cannot figure out how to contact them regarding slanderous feedback.

You should be able to get that remark removed as it is slanderous. Go to your site map on the upper right part of your page and click. You will find the feedback forum and who to contact if you are having problems. Dont go into a story about letting someone else use your account. Just say this seller left you that malicious feedback. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I will be happy to help.

Hi!
Sorry to hear about the feedback. I just went to great lengths to resolve a situation so feedback would not be used as a "club" toward either party. The resolution center brought me an immediate reply from someone who was doing much foot dragging. I feel good about using the resolution center in the future if I need to.

There is also SquareTrade and they will help you remove the feedback from your tally for a small fee. And as Darleen said, you only have 5 feedbacks. You can start over with a fresh id if it really bugs you.

Yes, that is slanderous! I would do like gymmomj says above. No one has the right to do that on ebay. That could be grounds for suspension. Check it out. At least it could get it removed from your score. And, you can always leave them a negative without being slanderous. Just state they were unwilling to work with you to resolve the situation. Also, leave that type of reply to their comment. You can find that under feedback forum. Your reply will go under their comment.

If the transmission was paid for thru Paypal, you can file an "item not as described" dispute and possibly get your money refunded.

Unfortunately, Ebay does not care about people leaving libelous (defamatory) or slanderous feedback. Leaving Negative feedback, but when someone leaves feedback calling you a thief because you refuse to send them an item they never paid for, it is libel. Ebay refuses to get involved. A woman bought a gift card from me, she "paid" I mailed it out with delivery confirmation (I thought I was being careful). Two days after I mailed it out, I got an email from paypal stating that the funds were being frozen because the "payment was under investigation for possible fraud". The lady paid under a paypal account under a man's name and then requested I ship it to a whole other person in another state. I did not realize it until paypal emailed me, so by then I was out of luck because I had already mailed it. I panicked and called the customer relations dept at the store from which I purchased the gift card and they told me that they treat their gift cards as cash, but as long as I had the number they could send me out another provided it was not used in the 7-14 days it would take them to send it to me. At that point I had 2 options, wait to be scammed out of 280 dollars and a $300 gift card OR take the gift card number (which I kept the original receipt just in case it got lost in the mail) and use the funds. Well, I chose the letter and used the funds, then called paypal and told them that I had retrieved my item and they should just return the money back to the originating account (I am still not sure if it was her account). In the meantime, the lady took almost 4 days to respond to my emails, and waited until I told her I was replacing the card to respond, only to tell me that there was nothing I could do because she knew for a fact that the company treats the gift cards like cash...Does that sound like an honest person to you? What she did not count was that I am very friendly with the store manager at the store where I bought the gift card (I am a frequent buye

By the way Ebay's response was, and I quote:
"Due to the number of feedback comments left on a daily basis, and the fact we believe the
Feedback Forum to be an open forum of communication between buyers and
sellers, we do not investigate the comments members post for
truthfulness or accuracy. While we do encourage all members to post
professional, please understand that we will not remove feedback because
it seems unfair, or the member lied."
