Hi this is Chris Rupp's blog. Does anyone out there need or want to discuss my guitar instructional dvds or give me any ideas on what guitar dvds to do next?
Hi. I came across your site because you have the same name as an Army friend I used to have. I play guitar too and see that you're selling instructional DVD's. Good stuff. I gather your production approach is similar to chefs who teach how to make dough, roast a duck, etc. i.e. a solid foundation to build on. This is good, but I think you may have some success supplementing it with recipes as well. moon-dog touches the idea pretty closely (single songs) and some might suggest explaining whole albums ala Hal-Leonard style. I suggest that you might gather certain scales and show how the same ones are used in a variety of current or popular songs. I know the blues and major scales are used a lot. You could cover certain genres like say alternative, death metal, punk and pop using this technique, but always being certain that each genre DVD has popular songs and uses the same scales.
If you've done this already then please ignore. If you haven't, it's a suggestion- hopefully it's a useful suggestion. Either way, guitar playing is pretty fun and it's neat someone else enjoys and wants to share it.
Hi Chris!I am burning through the 50 riffs and really enjoying them, especially the Jimi Hendrix.I would love to see a dvd with all Jimi Hendrix on it.Maybe you could go into a little more depth on the songs. That would be awesome for someone like me who has idolized Jimi since I was a kid. Also you could do some other artists too:Lynerd Skynerd,Stevie Ray Vaughn.Allman Brothers,Van Halen.I really enjoy your dvds Chris, they are easy to learn from in a logical, comfortable style.Keep up the good work!

I'm a AC DC fan and just started playing the guitar a few months back. I purchased your Black in Black instructional DVD and love it. Have you made one for Hells Bells or Highway to Hell. I also purchased your 50 greatest rock licks but have not watched it yet.
yes, I'm going to do more song DVDs in the future. I'm currently working on a Basics of Country Guitar DVD and I'm going to be starting up "monthly online guitar lessons" on my website at www.chrisrupp.com. Hopefully I'll have them available by the end of summer. I also put up a "free guitar lessons" webpage on my site. I only have 1 free lesson there but will be putting more there in the future. Check it out.
Greetings! BiB has been my favorite album from the minute I heard it in 8th grade.I just bought the BiB DVD and when I saw the mini Vclip my hands started to shake! Been trying to play that song for years (correctly) and have seen countless tabs all a little different -I am hoping to change that now with my new friend Chris Rupp! As far as I'm concerned, Back in Black is the greatest song in music history and I am finally gonna be able to play it(I even got a real SG recently)
Hi Chris
Brillant stuff
Have just bought Stairway to Heaven.
May I please say that I think you would sell far more if they were available in you direct download format. In particular AC DC.
May I also suggest there are two great AC Dc Tracks which no one seems to do.
And they are firstly Rock your Heart Out!
And secondly Rock in Peace (R.I.P).Which all of us fanatical beginers would love to play properly.
Thank you, step by step as you have done is the only way we can really get it right.
I also think it would be great to know how to get the AC Dc Sound right or near particulary on a strat.
I am sure I speak for all of us.
Respect Brian.
Its been a long time since anything new. I hope its because your making tons of money. I have everything you have made to date and am looking forward to more DVDs like learn a classic. Please keep us up to date on your future plans, and Keep Rocking!
